Madden NFL 12 Demo Available Now, Post Impressions Here (360, PS3)

Played a half before work as the Bears, on whatever the default settings are.

Highlight: Stiff ARM is BACK!!!!
Lowlight: "It's Madden." If you like Madden, it should be fine, if not, don't buy it. We've all been through this. Madden is the same each year, just hopefully with less BS than the prior year.

Impressions:
-presentation is par. Picky, but the cars driving on the street outside of soldier field looked cheesey. All the same size; like little toy tracks. The stadium view is ok, but it doesn't get me off as it appears to for some of you.
-the game is awkward without commentary.
-game speed is fast, boarder line arcade. Players get huge gains quickly and animations cover long distances.
-I had great success running the football with Matt forte
-I had two LB interceptions when I went into zone, by the same player on consecutive drives.
-I liked the fact that defensive players didn't drop obvious interceptions, as they do constantly on today's Madden.

I didn't see anything glaringly horrible or great. I've already bought the game. I'm a sucker for $20 off deals

I just wanna say though, that Aaron Rogers and jay cutler are probably the 3rd and 4th fastest QBs in real life, of those who play. Vick, Young, Rogers, Cutler, and McCoy. Not counting cam, and tebow. They're fast because the overall game speed is too fast.

Haven't played Madden since the winter after 10 came out and was only able to squeeze in a half before work. The game feels significantly different, for the better. Also, I seem to remember 5% of the controls. I love the tackling as that was my biggest gripe with 10. I made a nice seam pass for what seemed like the first time ever. I'm excited to get home and put more time in on it so I can get back in the groove before the full game comes out.

I assume that this is a new tackling system? It's done real well...it doesn't feel canned to me...

the lighting is beautiful...makes me wish that they would bring this to the pc

Incredible Incredible Incredible is the word for this years Madden so far

The graphics slap NCAA down and last years Madden.

The grass in Madden is light years better then the vomit of NCAA

Tackles have weight to them and do not feel like a floating mess

The global game speed is incredibly to fast on normal and still a bit to fast on very Slow which is what I love. The very slow of madden 10 is still my favorite. Playing on anything higher then very slow feels like NFL blitz.

Sliders can be tweaked and side note. If you choose All Madden and then change sliders and run a play and go back to game difficulty, it says Rookie but in reality it is All Madden because remember that All Madden is 25 in sliders and that is where the sliders stay and it plays All Madden even if the glitch puts the difficulty at Rookie.

Do not like the kicking camera but you can press RT to put it on the classic cam. Same for kick offs.

Cannot wait for this game to come out in a couple of weeks.

Seems solid. . . reminds me a lot of Madden 09 for some reason. The old Madden kick meter is back and is AWESOME! Love the presentation . . .

Cons: Still far to many big hits. . .

With how fast Cutler is it seems all QB's will have scrambling ability to some extent (and makes Vick potentially over powered)


Important stuff I changed. . .

Go to game options (upon kickoff)

Turn off auto sprint/strafe

Change game speed to SLOW

Change player minimum speed threshold to 35

These settings reset every time you start up a game (in demo).



I like the speed settings MUCH more. . . on normal speed seems much to fast. . . all QB's become scramblers

Visually only gripe is the sidelines but can't have it all. Next next gen, right?
