ESPN The Gamer has posted the Madden NFL 12 player ratings for the top 8 defensive ends in the game.

Haloti Ngata: 97
Julius Peppers: 95
Justin Tuck: 94
Jared Allen: 94
Robert Mathis, Dwight Freeney, Trent Cole, John Abraham: 93 (tie)

Are there any changes you would like to see, or are they just about right?

Thoughts?
Tuck Rated higher that Cole ?

Really ?

Why, because Tuck had a sack and a half more than Cole in 2010 ? What about 2009 ? What about the fact that Cole and Tuck have been in the league for the same number of years, but Cole has more total sacks and tackles than Tuck ? You also have to take into account that with Osi playing on the other end, Tuck gets a lot more one on one opportunities.

Ngata doesn't even play the same position as the rest...learn to 3-4, EA.

Re: Madden NFL 12 Ratings - Top 5 Defensive Ends

I wonder why the DEs are rated so much lower than the LBs who were consistently around 98-97. Not that I'm complaining; mid 90s is about where I think every position should top out at.

The list does highlight what I thought about the linebacker group, that they should have at least been separated inside from outside, because Ngata isn't playing the same position as Tuck and the rest. But if we are going to mix 3-4 and 4-3 ends, then where is Justin Smith?

Re: Madden NFL 12 Ratings - Top 8 Defensive Ends

my biggest sleeper at DT is Terrance Cody.

His ratings last year were unreal for a DT.

97 strength and 97 block shed

(might be 98 for both)

guy is a monster in stopping the run

Cole might be the most complete 4-3 DE.

Why is EA including Ngata with defensive ends? He plays inside the vast majority of the time including obvious passing situations.
