How are they missing this stuff? Oh well, it will have to do as I am not waiting for patch #3 in December.

Re: NASCAR The Game 2011 Patch Available Now, Post Impressions Here

In my opinion after several races yesterday, the patch offline has done quite a bit of good. I still see the AI slowing down randomly in the corners at times. I dont know if its just the way theyre programed to slow in the corners, or if maybe someone up front gets loose and causes a chain reaction of slowdowns all the way back. I feel like that happens someones, but at one point i passed about 6 cars in a row as they all slowed down, and the car at the front of that line i was passing was kind of twitching a bit as they all slowed down more. So, not really sure.

One thing I noticed was the caution lights in a race at Michigan, they weren't green, they weren't yellow, but they were blue/white in color? It was strange to see.

I can't speak for offline play, as I don't venture there.

Also I can't speak for how pitting is working in offline races either, I haven't had the opportunity to race a long enough race to encounter that yet.

There's still some issues, no doubt. I don't think we'll see a patch 3 though. I think they should just pack it in for NTG11 and work on trying to make 12 the best possible effort.

Wow, it is a blood bath over at the Eutechnyx forums over patch #2. All of the devs are laying low which is not a good sign. I think I might skip next year's Nascar and wait for them to work all of these issues out. What I don't understand is they clearly released a list to all of the problems fixed and from what I can tell, it still sounds like nearly 1/2 are still a problem.

Those playing the 360, what is your take..........keep, trade in or use as a coaster for your cold drinks?

I wouldn't go as far as saying the game completely sucks or is unplayable, but it is still far from being a great game! The biggest negative factor I'm noticing is having ai cars in front of you quickly slowing down or breaking in front of you causing you to either slam the brakes or damage your front grill, which will ensure you a loss for the race and ruins the flow of the race. You just have to learn to anticipate this by repositioning yourself away from a tight cornered position with an option to quickly switch lanes. Also, they should have done something similar to EA Nascar 07 and brought in team play. It would have added much more depth to the game to have the player earn a position on a team by performing well on the track. You would then bump draft your own teammates and create more dynamics of a real race.

All in all, this game failed to learn from all the lessons and features other companies have acquired over the years. They created a game that looks nice but plays very average and dull!

Next year, if they decide to come up with a 2012 version, consumers should probably not immediately buy the game, but rather wait for responses of it's quality.

Offline, its decent now. Nothing to be thrilled with. I'd still say NASCAR racing 1994 edition does a better job at overall feel of racing.

Multiplayer, I really don't know. I haven't been able to get into a game yet, and when I do the lobby closes or I get kicked. The few games I actually raced it as laggy, bumpy, and overall just not good.

My opinion: Trade this turd in, and go buy Dirt 3 or Race Pro. THOSE are competent games.

Thanks for the responses. I don't know, I am hoping for some odd reason the PS3 patch with the DLC built in is better. I have pretty much every racing game out for the consoles. I will hold out but right now I might be need to look into Rfactor or Iracing.

I ran a 125 lapper at Richmond last night, and was disappointed to see the entire field running in a single file line around the track. It looked like old school Gran Turismo AI. Nobody trying anything, everybody in a big long train.

Well, to be fair, in a sense, that is nascar racing nowadays.

I know what you mean though, it just feels like the AI cars are just out there. No real intelligence to them, theyre just there, going around and around, occasionally slowing down for no apparent reason still.

The one thing I must give Eutechnyx credit for however, they made a really nice looking game, and it really does have the foundation for a solid representation of Nascar moving forward. The problem is, with the lack of significant improvement through the patch, do they have the ability to really get the actual racing part of the game to move forward. Its better with the patch, no doubt, but its still far off from where it should be as a representation of Nascar, and compared to other games.
