I remember giving up playing NCAA 11 early on and then I popped it in one day and I got the patches for it that had come out in the 3 months I hadn't played it and it seemed a much better game.

Lesson is really they push the games out to fast and then fix them later, so you should just wait 3 or 4 months to buy them. But the hype machine kicks in and you end up getting it at release, playing a couple weeks, getting annoyed by the bugs again and shelfing it for 3 months again like the year before lol

I used to think patches were a good thing, but they seem like a crutch to allow people to rush out games. It seems like too many games are coming out all buggy and they wait for the community too tell them what's wrong. QA has really fallen off especially in current gen gaming.

Don't get me wrong, patches are better than no patches, but I think developers have gotten lazy because they can rely on these.

I design websites for politicians and businesses. If I just rushed out a website without testing it properly and let my clients tell me what's wrong with it, I'd be out of a job.
