There's also a "Teammate Controls, Manual" video that shows how it's possible to take control of off-the-ball teammates and manually move them into position for passes, crosses, etc. These new controls are absolutely groundbreaking. An incredibly creative addition to video soccer.

Wont matter a lick if the defense aren't going to go with the run. The center half's where not even aware there was a player behind them. , that was an ugly example if you ask me.

JimmyDecide, do you realize these videos are made to present features so therefore they will not try these features on top player because it won't work.

Don't quite understand how these work... He says R3, but the little diagrams show a direction with the right analog stick...

So do you press R3 to activate, and then point a direction with the right analog stick???

I don't know, sounds okay I guess... Though I'd much prefer smart AI that made these varied type of runs on their own, based on the team settings you have set up.

Who knows, maybe it will be a good addition.

I can appreciate that, although the PES team has made it clear that aspect of the gameplay has been vastly improved this year.

These new controls remind me of the groundbreaking controls that were in games like NFL Fever (Read and Lead passing) and NHL 2K8. And to be honest, I don't know if new controls are even welcome in today's gaming market, where most seem to prefer fast-paced arcade online play. Gamers of that ilk are naturally going to prefer the familar control setup found in previous year's soccer games, to a new and challenging control scheme that's going to take plenty of practice to master. I play strictly offline against the CPU, and I'm just glad to hear we finally get what appear to be some amazingly innovative controls to fool around with.
