I finally got to do that diving catch animation a couple of times last night. Basically it is the same diving catch animation Madden 11 has.

One of them I did was between the CB and SS for a TD. Kind of weird how both of them were on both sides of me running step for step. Only thing was I dove for it and they didn't, but yet their bodies warped forward standing where I landed.

Saw it in the highlight replay.

Re: NCAA Football 12 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here (360, PS3)

I've enjoyed reading the majority of impressions. I don't chime in too much around here, but I figured I'd add a few my of own thoughts. Playing PS3 version.

-I agree with the grass not looking quite right. The field looks fantastic during the majority of replays, but during regular gameplay something just seems.."off." I'm wondering if this is due to a conflict with the new lighting system. Didn't that conflict with the jerseys getting dirty last year?

-I'm wondering if it's conflicting with the jerseys getting dirty THIS year. Yes I know the demo is only 2 minute quarters, but I haven't seen a bit of degradation. I'm really hoping that this doesn't have to be patched in this year.

-I'm too used to hit sticking tackles and find myself whiffing on quite a few opportunities to bring the ball carrier down. I'm enjoying that.

-Return system is greatly improved from '11. Still not perfect, but much improved. I'm surprised at how much this little element has contributed to my enjoyment of the game. No longer does every drive start somewhere between my own 10 and 30 yard line.

-Has anyone seen the CPU QB attempt any deep balls? I've played 7 games and can't recall the CPU attempting any long passes. It's all been dink and dunk. (Sorry if this has been brought up)

-There are more stat overlays it seems, but there should still be more. Very much enjoy the transition between quarters and halves. The replays and gametracks will add some longevity to the game.

-Dreadlocks...just..look bad in my opinion. I guess I'm glad they're in for variety.

-I feel it plays faster than NCAA 11. I think this will ultimately be a good thing.

-WHY WAS PLAY SELECTION CHANGED? Ok, I know this isn't a big deal, but man that is going to be tough to get used to for the first few days of gameplay. Left and Right is now Up and Down and vice versae.

Overall, I'm hoping the first tuner released based on impression shores up a bit of the demo's shortcomings. There are some things (CPU attempting 60 yard fg's, etc...) that were helped out by the last set of tuners and patches from NCAA 11, so I don't quite understand why they're rearing their head in NCAA 12. Shouldn't they have already been removed from the game during it's production..since they were taken out of NCAA 11? Oh well, no big deal, as long as it's ironed out in the end.

If you liked the way NCAA 11 played, you'll like NCAA 12. I hate to say same ole song and dance because I haven't played the finished product yet, but there's nothing that is going to wow you (my opinion.) It's improved slightly in areas already discussed to death in this thread. I'll be buying on release day, and I expect to get just as much enjoyment out of 12 as I did NCAA. Actually, probably more due to the new CC. Hopefully RTG will add to the experience too.

Creditbilty department? Whatever, jerkoff. The demo game is the worst looking NCAA game to date on the PS3.

Wow, you must have downloaded a different demo than me. Glad I didn't get that one.

Is there anyway we can start a separate "I hate EA/They Don't Try/Dreadlocks suck/I hate Grass/This looks like a Super Nintendo Game/Convince me to buy this" Thread?

I feel if we could do that it would be much easier for me to navigate in this thread and see the 1 in 20 posts that doesn't relate to those topics listed above.

Re: NCAA Football 12 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here (360, PS3)

Alright. I was able to get in 3 games this morning before I left for work. (PS3)

I played one game on Varsity and 2 on AA.

My overall impression on this bare bones 2 minute a quarter demo (which is = to one quarter of play for me) is we have a much more refined NCAA 11. I loved NCAA 11 big time and I was a little nervous after I traded it in early to take advantage of the nice credit and Gamestops strong trade in offer at the time. My slight fears are gone. It is exactly what I expected on the field.

1) Tackling is 100% better. It feels great and looks really good. I saw many tackles where I was hit on my pad and i stumbled and then got cleaned up by another player. I did see some gang tackles that looked great. Wrap up tackles. Really they did a great tuning job on making this new collision system work.

2) Zone Defense works. I was very impressed how well LB's and safeties played their respective zones and passing is going to be challenging this year.

3) The Running game felt much better. And I loved it last year. It is even smoother and with the new collision system feels even more realistic than it ever has ever been in the past.

4) Presentation - I have no issues with the ESPN style overlays and I really can't give this area a fair shake till I get the retail version in 2 weeks.

5) HDR Lighting - looks gorgeous. The game looks beautiful and the 3-D grass looks great on cut scenens and replays.

Again my expectations were much better AI - Check

Much better tackling - Check

HDR Lighting - Check

Add that in with CC, Custom playbooks, a much improved RTG mode (which I will play first as I await sliders and rosters) and you have IMO what will be with the retail release the best NCAA football title to date.

I can already tell I will be looking for either Playmakers or Slient Nature to come up with a great slider set to fit my game style. Out of the box the game will play good but as always a good slider set only enhances the overall sim experience. I will also play on slow speed.

I have no doubt this will be my last NCAA Football game for this Gen of consoles.

I am very pleased.

On Heisman, I see them chuck it up a lot deep. Way more then they should. Seemed weird watching the Oregon QB throw it deep 7 times.

Hehe...I can't agree with ya...I'm not blown away by the demo but it's not the worst looking NCAA game on the PS3...can you make an agrument that it's not the much better than past versions? Sure...but it's not worse.
