There is a lack of stiff arms being used by RBs and QBs when they run. This was the same problem last year. I mean not all runners spin and juke only to avoid tackles.

And when the user tries to stiff arm, there is no power behind it and it results in a tackle more often then not. Stiff arm suppose to push off.

Also what is with the that spring effect you get every time you engage with one of the OTs ??

Anybody else notice that ? You automatically bounce back 2 yards.

I love how defenders play zones.

Tackling feels good.

AI QB awareness could be better. AI shotgun running awareness needs to be better.

Running game feels like it could use a little polish. It feels like it's missing something.

For those struggling with PA, are you sliding protection? I found this works wonders for me.

Overall, not bad. Not great, but no game killers obvious in demo. I like that they can tune the demo and then release a decent first day patch based off of reaction.

It's too early to get panties in a bunch. Besides, it's a demo right now.

What boggles my mind is they work on presentation stuff that is static and never changes yet they could be giving us stat wipes and other information "on screen" that is dynamic during the game that is unique to every single game that would be far more entertaining and informative and would actually draw you into the game more. It would probably be easier to develop as well...but no...if you want that kind of info you have to hit pause and dig through clunky menus....but in general, teams intro's and "3D grass" are two things I'll go to my grave not understanding why people get jazzed about (Oh and "dreads"...I mean who really gives a f%^k?).
I agree for the most part. I feel that these intros are "bells and whistles" that get added to the game once you get comfortable and confident in the meat of your game. However, the meat of NCAA still needs a good bit of work. I think those resources could be better spent elsewhere, improving the majority of the game (i.e. gameplay & presentation DURING the game) rather than adding somewhat "gimmicky" things to cater to the casual crowd--the latter of which NCAA has been famous for this generation.

I would personally like to see NCAA do more for the year-to-year fan rather than the first-year casual drop-in.

Re: NCAA Football 12 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here (360, PS3)

Just played a game on varsity setting. I have to say I was impressed. CPU still established a run game, but I was able to get a lot of pressure on the QB, after a few hits it really took its toll on him. I sacked the QB 6 times and didn't have any of the 2 yard incompletions The CPU QB had several overthrows in a row and it really disrupted his timing. Bye the way I was Florida State playing Alabama.

I still dislike the grass, on some replays its so blurry and makes the screen flicker beyond enjoyment.

My biggest complaints are the very blocky font for the player numbers, the play art needs to be more transparent and the 3D grass on replays at times can be too much.

Note: on some replays the grass is fine on others it is just to blurry and really messes up the viewing experience.

Re: NCAA Football 12 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here (360, PS3)

Ok I've played through like 6-7 games on this demo already. I've been playing on All-American mode and have a mixed opinion on the demo.

Defensively...much improved. Zone D is working better, getting pressure on the QB(Both by myself and CPU), turnovers are here and there, but not too many and not too few. I am dominating on D....I've given up 17 points total so far.

This brings me to my beef so far and it might totally be me sucking for whatever reason on this demo. Guys, I cannot score! After the first game or two it was cute, but I've scored 4 FOUR touchdowns in the 7 games I've played so far. I've went 4-3 in those games with wins of 3-0, 6-0, 9-3, 14-0. I've lost games 2-0(LOL), 10-7, and 14-6(One of these was a pick 6).

So, for whatever reason...on the demo I have, I cannot put together touchdown drives. I'm frustrated a bit but at the same time somewhat excited because they are only 2 minute quarters and D looks a lot better. That said, a lot of you are putting up 20-30 points in some games. I have not come close to one of these...very strange. I'm not the GOAT but by no means the WOAT at this game. 14 points being my high after 7 games is a little disturbing but not a huge deal so far. Maybe I'm not use to the speed it's set on? Thoughts? I've read some say they do not like it.

Also, a couple of random things.

The CPU did not use any of its 3 TO's with a minute plus to go in a 0-0 tie and allowed me to run down the clock and kick field goal with no time left to win it. Poor clock management by the CPU.

Had Bama run the ball on 4th and 1 with 6 seconds left...get tackled with 1 second left and somehow spike it and no time run off? Is that possible in real life? I think a second should have ran off...ending the game. They failed on a hail mary so its all good.

I've seen CPU scrambling, mainly Manuel for FSU, who burned me for a FIFTY-THREE yard TD!!! I've seen Bama's QB tuck and run a couple times, but only had Thomas do it twice in 2 games against Oregon so far. A little disappointing there. Texas QB is just bad all around.

Fatigue is disappointing. I run on first and 10 with Thomas and get out of bounds for 5 yard and I'm dead RED in fatigue...he proceeds to miss 3 wide open WR's on the next 3 downs badly, including overthrowing one by 10 yards for an INT on 4th and 5. One play would not tire Thomas out in real life...geeze EA, come on.

Re: NCAA Football 12 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here (360, PS3)

I downloaded the demo on 360 and PS3 and thought 360 had a slight edge in certain areas but thought both looked great other than the in game grass which just looks terrible on both systems. The 3D grass in the replays is a nice touch although there are other things I wish they would work on instead of making the game pretty in replays like in game stats and the commentary desperatly needs an overhaul just to name a couple.

I played a couple games on varsity just to get warmed up get a feel for the game. After that I played a few games on Heisman. I beat Oregon in a squeaker 3-0 and Alabama owned me 14-0. Their O-line mowed FSU's D-line down pretty handily and I couldn't generate much offense with FSU until the last drive where I got the ball to the goalline but I ran out of time.

The Alabama and FSU matchup as others have said did seem to be a later build and looked a little better in game and on the replays and cutscenes.

Overall I really enjoyed the demo on both systems and can't wait for the FINAL PRODUCT on July 12th.
