I hate these match ups. I'll just stick to Oregon, I guess. It's the best offense, to my liking.

Re: NCAA Football 12 Demo Impressions (360) PS3 Demo Available Later This Afternoon

I didn't play NCAA 11, so I'm coming at this from a different perspective than some. I liked the first game I played. I lost 10-7 using Oregon on All American.

A few things that stood out as cool:
-The CPU HB ran intelligently and made the run game a force
-The CPU QB moved intelligently in the pocket
-I saw 2 examples showing a lack of the psychic QB, one a coverage sack and one an INT that was the result of an effective zone blitz.
-QB run plays for Oregon worked pretty well without feeling cheesy
-CPU pass rush was evident.

The main things I don't like are the game speed and the way player momentum is implemented. It doesn't really feel like players have the right weight to them. I'll be cool as long as slowing the game speed down is an option.

A big part of scheming is deception. Often times you don't want the offense to know exactly what you're running when you lineup. Thus, on APF for example, you had the ability to change your shell in order to give the offense a different look. On NCAA 12, as far as I know, there's no deception. You can't realistically alter your alignments or shells. It's very straight-forward and run of the mill. There's no disguise, which is a huge aspect of scheming.

Secondly, being that the trench play isn't realistic. The tradeoff between the amount of linemen you bring, or don't bring, isn't realistic. You don't have true double team blocking, or bull rushing ability. Some teams have the athletes to run the 3-3-5 effectively. Other teams would get decimated in that same defense. On NCAA, you don't see that sort of discrepancy, or need to analyze what's the best fit for the athletes you have. Instead, every basic scheme seems to have the same outcome across the board. With obvious differences in play making ability only.

I could go through the specifics of each scheme, but yes, I think that there shows that the schemes don't function realistically.

Game was fun, I liked the new tackling. Still with all the stuff coming out this year, I'll wait until NCAA is cheap or on sale. Just a personal opinion, even though I'll be hiding my car keys on release day.

Looks like EA was totally realistic on that then. Gilbert in real life is absolutely atrocious. By FAR the worst QB to start a whole season at a major program EVER. As a OU fan though I love Gilbert, and what he did to the Texas program.

Some of Gilberts amazing accomplishments last year.

*- Led Texas to the first losing season of the Mack Brown era
*- Led Texas to FOUR straight HOME losses against UCLA, Iowa St, Baylor, and OSU.
*- Threw the ball 441 times yet only had a pathetic 10 TD passes
*- Had a 10 TD-17 INT ratio
*- Totally demoralized, and ripped out the heart of the great Texas defense
*- Totally humilated the Texas program.

As a OU fan I got great pleasure, and joy out of watching what Gilbert did to the Texas program, but I just was in total shock that this guy started the whole season. Mack kept making the excuse that he didnt have any other QB's ready to play. If don't matter if you dont have any other QBs ready to play when a guy is so bad that he is demoralizing, and breakinging even your defense, and totally humiliating your program you have no choice but to bench him no matter who you got backing him up.
