Re: NCAA 12 Gamplay Unedited

in the Nebraska vid, why is the crowd pretty much silent from the tackle of the opening kickoff to the moment the huddle breaks?

Does the NCAA team even watch or go to college football games? The crowd on the opening kickoff of a Nebraska home game vs Ohio State makes hardly any noise until they finally break the huddle on defense? Thats pathetic.

Next year's game better have HFA with Stadium Pulse back in it. They also NEED to go the broadcast presentation style NBA 2k, Madden, MLB the Show have gone because the game looks nothing like a tv broadcast even with the new wipes. And either get a brand new commentary team or do something to spice it up because at this point enough is enough with this boring commentary. Its been the same thing for way too many years now. Nothing dynamic or interesting about it.

Very little has changed in this game. Player movement is twitchy and robotic, foot-planting is practically nonexistent, little-to-no penalty for change of direction, OL/DL interactions are stiff and scripted, defenders and blockers "lock up" with each other no matter the size difference between the two players, realistic pockets still aren't being created, pass speeds and ball trajectories are still messed up, receivers don't fight for the ball, DBs backpedal at ridiculous speeds, etc. For those of you that liked NCAA 11, you'll definitely like 12 because it's essentially the same thing. I was expecting more though. This pretty much cements my decision, but I'll still give the demo a try.
i agree 100%. Those that don't get why some of us are complaining just don't get it. I loved NCAA 11, i thought it was a huge improvement. But it was by no means a perfect game. Well NCAA 12 is essentially the same exact game on the field. The changes are so small. So yes if you liked 11 you'll like 12 because its the same thing. The foot planting looks awful, throwing motion still looks stupid, running motions are all the same, special teams is the same, commentary is the same.

The only reason i'm getting NCAA 12 is because i already paid for it. And the reason i did that was because NCAA Football is a game i always play more than any other game year after year and with the features they announced i was expecting the gameplay to really make me say wow so i just paid in full when i preordered. But last year i skipped Madden and this year Madden looks amazing. I probably should skip NCAA this year for the 1st time ever but because i'm such a college football fan its hard to.

Re: NCAA 12 Gamplay Unedited

I had planned to buy this game solely based on the fact that they have Osceola this year. But after seeing these vids of gameplay today i will pass. This looks the exact same from last year only with a few damn cut scenes added in. And even the guys that are playing the game and giving reviews are using the same ole lines like "Oh you have to play the game to see the changes." Thats Bull**** we arent blind, we can plainly see the changes in madden vids, but this is the same damn game. Oh well i guess they couldnt risk the NFL not having a season and then loosing fans to the NCAA franchise this year so the held out on Ncaa. I guess ill pick this game up in February when its on the shelf for $20 bucks that way i dont feel cheated.

Commentary in both games is horrible. This needs to be a priority for next year.

Other than that everything looked good or at least better than that. Now if this is the only animation that they have for this type of play to be made I can understand that, but jump balls in football in those type of situations usually end with the guy catching the ball landing on their back or taking a lot more time to regain their balance.

edit: Their are also a lot of awkward silences, that's one thing that can definitely be improved upon with better commentary, but who knows when we are getting that.

Come on man, you obviously aren't watching this play close enough. He is running with the WR jumps and catches at the 35 yard line, he then lands at the 36 yard line (2 steps) and then plants at the 37 (2 steps). He takes a total of 4 steps not 1. Maybe he does plant a little bit too quick but it doesn't look horrible.

EDIT: Actually he plants at the 38. You can see him actually stop and have to shift his momentum.
