Agreed, especially if him and his back up are similarly rated.

I think this gets to an issue/question about these streaks.

How rigid are they?

Ok, they reset after 3 games. But do they all last for 3 games? In other words, does one good (or bad) game set a hard template for two more games, or do they instead last for up to, but not more than 3 games.

If they vary in duration, then keeping in your starter with the hope that he may turn things around before the end of the game not only makes sense, it also offers some possible chance he won't suck again next week.

Otherwise, why not just identify your cold players and bench them until the streak is over, once three games are up?

Back-up OL (especially young players) how do they progress if they don't play?

Practice Squads didn't make it in? Not complaining, just asking to clarify!!!

Undrafted Free Agent Period after the Draft?
1. Yeah somewhere it mentioned, a viable strategy is sitting a guy and having him "watch and learn" because usually rookies haven't matured and adapted to the NFL game yet, so sitting may be the thing to get a QB out of his "aggressive when it comes to throwing into coverage" trait, or how he reacts when under pressure.
2. Id have to think the progression is the same.
3.No practice squads.
4.I doubt that would be in, since its a period before it. But im pretty sure teams will fill out their rosters to the 75 max before their first preseason game.

Everyone quote the last part of what this guy said. Because this defeats all strategy that would be needed for these hot/cold streaks.

Re: Madden NFL 12 Blog - Franchise Mode in Madden 12

this is just about everything i wanted fixed over the last few feature announcements.

The few other things are gameplay related and sadly, there has been no mention so i believe they havent been adressed(LB INTs with 60in verticles, pass flight trajectory).

This is looking like the best installment in a while.

I'd have to think it's not that cut and dry. I mean, Peyton Manning had that horrible stretch of games, but you knew he'd bounce back. If that happened in Madden, I wouldn't think his rating wouldve dropped TOO much, and plus, it was only a string of 3 games. That's probably a starting point for how they came up with their benchmark of a 3 week limit. Also, a QB with the role of Franchise QB would have a longer leash, i'd think, than a stop-gap. For example, I can't see the Panthers pulling Cam Newton because they'll want him to learn through his mistakes, but I could see the Raiders pulling Jason Campbell. He's a stop-gap, and they've done it before. The question is, if it is INDEED in, will it be realistic? I don't wanna see Brady get pulled for Brian Hoyer because he's had a string of 2-3 INT games. It could be the result of having the Ravens, Steelers, and Bears scheduled back-to-back-to-back.

Exactly. This situation should fit perfectly with teams with stop-gap QBs or lower rated ones, ala the Cardinals, Seahawks, Raiders.

Also, it'll be interesting to see how Tim Tebow develops in Franchise mode He has to have his own throwing motion, and it would be cool to see if he could progress out of his tendencies and traits, or if he's considered the QB of the future, or the franchise QB.

Possibly, but that really isn't as potentially dealbreaking as it sounds. I'd take Tom Brady on a cold streak OVER Alex Smith on a hot streak anyday, because Brady will more than likely bounce back.

Also, if you're willing to try to get around a feature like that, by sitting everyone on cold streaks, instead of assessing the situation, that's pretty indicative of you're stick skills and general football IQ, I have to think
