Yeah, I'm actually Ok with the potentials. I was just giving the Bears fan a hard time. The sayings are definitely really cool. I'd love to see what Hanie and Cutler had to say.

I hope that they reworked this, as well. I'm also wishing that the real life draft picks are in. Does anyone know if it's been confirmed or denied?

TRADES!

The trade block on Madden is disgusting only a maximum of 3 teams are interested in Asante Samuel or Trent Cole or person x?

In NBA 2k their trade block is the best I've ever seen. You put up someone like Chris Paul 29 teams are contacting you about what they will give up for him.

Another thing about trade blocks, there are ONLY RUNNING BACKS up in the trade block!

Also I wish the CPU teams would offer YOU trades for once (again like 2K)
I'd love to hear more about the trade system. Will there be CPU/CPU trades? Especially, during the off-season & draft.

I get wanting the radio show back. That was sort of cool, I guess. But I don't understand the appeal of the newspaper.
I'm fairly indifferent about newspaper. Newspaper articles for not just your team but, around the league neat. I'd like to have something. However, with all of these other improvements, I can't complain about not having anything this year. I can't wait for more info though. If you would have told me last week that I would be more excited for Madden than NCAA I would have called you crazy but, that's the case now. This could be the start of Madden being really good again

I'm guessing next year is the big audio and off the field production year.

Remember that white board snapshot that leaked, with the brainstorming about "commentary" for M13?

This year we get a tone of franchise mode development two years in the making. If they are moving to using shared development teams for both football games for bigger improvements rolling out every two years, then maybe they are building some core code that can deploy better storyline commentary, radio shows, maybe some video elements like halftime shows, etc.

Just a guess, but it seems like a reasonable bet. They took out the weekly show this year from franchise because it sucked. Kind of like doing nothing with franchise last year.

All of the major things have been said, so I'll add a more minor thing that I loved reading in the blog.

Real rookie faces in draft classes. No longer on my guy's player card (and subsequently on the stat banners in game) will I see a 3D rendered face of my first round pick. Totally adds to the realism and immersion factor, and is something I've wanted since NFL 2K5 started morphing people's faces. But this is better.

Only other things I would've liked seeing: Training camp, all-star game, radio in franchise mode and/or newspapers. I would've liked to hear that there's more commentary going on, analysts breaking down our picks, mock drafts, actual NFL Draft presentation, etc.

But oh well. They did more than enough in one year.

Does anyone know if expanded rosters will mean long snappers are in the game?

I'm just thinking that they might be in and that you'd have to make room for a long snapper in your 53 team roster. That is, of course, unless they don't add a long snap rating, then you can use anyone as your long snapper.

Having good skill position players on special teams is important. Just ask the 2010 Chargers

Okay.....wow. I'm still cautious but at this point I might just buy and play coach mode in Franchise if I don't like the gameplay. The customization, control and new features are basically everything I've ever wanted. Major props to EA, specifically Josh, AJ, and the whoever else put in work on this.

Thank god L.A. Noire is coming out tomorrow to take my mind off of this. August feels so far away. Not to mention the year they push the release date back is the year I'm most excited.

yea they finally copied 2k and did the faces

and same here ALL i want is the Draft experience to feel real , not a intercom guy saysing a team name and the number of the pick

i want Training Camp and Practice back too , they should make it like Madden 07's training camp only u do it every week with a different player and they can make it so you can only make a Certain player do it every 3-4 weeks that way we dont see people using the same player every week and getting him to a 99 by the end of season 1

Re: Madden NFL 12 Blog - Franchise Mode in Madden 12

From the sounds of it, this only thing missing from what I have wanted for years is the Practice Squad. Remains to be seen how this stuff actually works... so many new features is bound to be buggy... But they have managed to get me excited about this game again... Something I thought never would happen after last years game.

I would like some more details though on the imported draft classes. Like what NCAA ratings are using to determine a players Madden ratings, and are there going to actually be early round busts and late round/undrafted gem's... or will they follow a predictable pattern like previous years, just with more accurate ratings?

Did you really have to be the guy to state that?
