Madden NFL 12 Franchise Mode Details, More Coming Monday (IGN)

For the first time since Shaun Alexander was on the cover, this guy will be purchased with my own hard-earned money. I've been an NCAA guy over Madden simply because there was no point to ever play Franchise mode. It was just a bunch of "Play Now" games with a generated schedule. Now...I can honestly say that this will add some much needed unpredictability to the mode.

Im curious to find out how you receive an "underachiever" role. It says 20+ roles. I wonder what some other roles will be? Could be "1st round bust", "Diamond in the rough". I just hope there isnt a big icon underneath the players feet on the field. Leave the player roles on the menu's please.

Damn, I haven't liked any of the Maddens this gen. Madden may be a first day buy for me this year...

Ah, sweet, roles. Franchise is finally getting back to where it was, plus some! I love the ideas behind consistency, maturing, etc. Finally, there's a reason to play a vet over a rookie beyond mere attributes.

1 of the IGN screens had Alex Smith and Ted Ginn labelled as underachievers, so I'm guessing its for failed 1st and 2nd round picks.
