So does that mean we should expect the running game to be overpowering this year?

Vick isn't everyone's favorite person in the world. If people were basing their votes on the curse, Vick would've gotten a lot of votes for that reason.

My theory is that people voted for Hillis because they thought it would be hilarious for a player the likes of Hillis to actually be on the Madden cover.

It's funny when you think about it.

If you did not know who Peyton Hillis is you need to watch more football.
Just shows that not all football gamers are actual football fans.

Nothing wrong with that at all. And being a fan of NFL is not contingent on knowing any particular player.

EDIT: lol i put a hazard thingy on the thread box by accident. woops lol

If the cover athlete didn't matter, there wouldn't be 222 people on these forums right now(there has been under 100 99% of the time all week).
People are here because info is being released all week long for both of EA's football games and a good number of people knew today was the unveiling of the cover athlete.

If the cover athlete did't matter, then NBA 2k12 wouldn't have sold what it did. Just look what a face like Jordan did for 2k.
Any time you put one of the best players of all time on the cover, you probably will get a slight boost in sales, but NBA 2k11 was hands down the best sports game this generation of consoles in my opinion and that is probably why it sold so well.

I am happy for Hillis. I think he deserved it as much as anyone.
Yes, Hillis was very deserving of this and I am very happy he got it.
Bold parts.

Re: Madden NFL 12 Cover Athlete is Peyton Hillis

i for 1 am glad that hillis won, i voted for him since the get go.

But to everybody saying that this was bad for EA because the cover matters alot it, does not.

people by madden because its the only pro football game out. It's been lousy for a while and people are still buying it just because.

And stop brnging up 2k11 and the Jordan cover. It sold great because it is an amazing game, possibly the best of the year, and because again it was the only basketball game period.
