I dunno', but to me, it's been baby steps forward. There are still SO many things fundamentally wrong and broken or never implemented that it's no better than 09 was. STILL do not have working penalties (except holding and sometimes PI), no working and proper challenge system, no working pocket, and rating still do not seem to matter (except speed). (and those are the ones just off the top of my head).

The things they DID implement seem unfinished, such as pro-tak, the highlight show, and the presentation just isn't engrossing...it's completely random and out of sequence.

Ian said "everything we see on Sunday" what, THREE years ago now? I still am not seeing it.

Yeah, the game LOOKS pretty, as long as it's still shots. In motion, it is still an abomination...pretty pitiful, IMO, for the richest development company in the business, with no competition, and supposed access to EVERYTHING that is the NFL (according to EA when they first bought the license).

I need to respectfully disagree. The worst years for me playing Madden were 07. 08, and 09. To say that 11 is no better than 09 is completely false.

People love to bring out the negatives, but don't like to show the positives either. Am I saying that 11 is the cat's meow? Heck no, there a lot of areas that need improvement.

I don't think he was saying Madden 11 wasn't better than 09. He was just saying how from 09 to 10 to 11 there was no real big jumps. Sure you can tell a difference from each game, but nothing really worth mentioning. The main difference from 09 to 11 is Gus Johnson and well, he sounds downright terrible in the game.

He did say that 11 was no better than 9. That's what I was reading into.

Run blocking and pursuit angles, and defense are much much improved.

Well, this isn't a good thing to hear.. I really hope everything works out for Madden and EA.

I'm sticking to NCAA for my football fix, like I have the last 4 years..

Agreed.

I don't see how anyone could have a legit negative reaction to this. All this 3 year plan stuff confirms they have a plan in place for the next few editions of Madden. It doesn't mean they are looking to reinvent the wheel.

Re: Madden NFL 12 to Kick Off Another 3-Year Plan

Some of you guys need to REEEEELAAAAAAAAXXX.

Someone finally says, "Hey, lets calm our consumers and investors down, and re-assure them we have a plan in place to make Madden better, and tell them how.", and everyone takes this as "Wait until 2014 to buy Madden."

Bet you if they hadn't said this, y'all would be like, "Things can't be good, EA needs to say something!"

The sky is always falling around here...

This is your opinion...which I respect. However, the measure of improvement is based on what YOU are looking for...the incremental improvements they made were not in one area that I was looking for, therefore, to me, zero improvement in the gameplay.

The animations STILL suck badly, there is no immersion into the game, ol/dl and wr/db interaction is a mess, offline franchise remains almost unchanged....plus the things I mentioned before. To me, it is not an enjoyable game to play, I'm bored and/or frustrated to the point I shut the rental (yeah, I didn't buy it...again) before half-time.
