Re: NASCAR The Game 2011 Q&A and Impressions

Leaving my copy of the game sealed but hopeful that I won't want to return it once I see some bug fixing. This reminds me a lot of F1 2010 -- when it came out, there was A LOT of criticism but lots of people now think that's a pretty good game. I'm guessing F1 2011 will probably be awesome.

I, for one, am very pleased at the company addressing the issues in a timely manner. That shows great customer service on their behalf and the drive (no pun intended) to better the product.

I was a little disappointed in the bugs and flaws of the game. But I believe if they manage to fix the major issues, this could be a quality NASCAR experience. I am not expecting to be sim like anymore, and just take it for what it is. There is fun to be had with this game, if the problems get resolved.

Thanks for standing by your product!!! The consumers appreciate it.

Their quick feedback is really encouraging. I hope they are able to pinpoint these bugs and take care of them.

I have the game at home waiting to be played. Can't wait to join the fun.

I just bought NASCAR the game 2011 for the ps3 on my hdtv. The game is not terrible, but not very great either! I don't think it's that great a leap from Nascar 09 by EA. The main issue I see is that there are way too many jagged lines making the graphics real poor. I can barely tell which is car is which two car lengths ahead of me! It is not crisp and sharp at all! I am using an powerful hdmi connector and the HDTV displays other games really sharp and well! Does anyone else experience the same issue and if so what can be done?

Re: NASCAR The Game 2011 Q&A and Impressions

"Below is a list of issues we are working on for the next Patch. This isn't a list of all the outstanding problems but we'd like to get this Patch out ASAP and these are the key issues that are stopping the majority of players from enjoying the game. As each item is fixed, the status will be updated. Thanks again for your patience and understanding.

Bugs:
Fix lack of Caution Flags - To Be Fixed
Fix issues with the A.I. exiting the pits and then pulling straight up the track - To Be Fixed
Reconfigure the damage to improve the look and add more debris on impact - To Be Fixed
Fix Cautions Lights being illuminated all of the time - To Be Fixed
Improve the PS3 voice comms - To Be Fixed
Fix the Rolling Starts Online/Offline so the cars begin in the correct formation and together - To Be Fixed
Improve FFB and wheel sensitivity options - To Be Fixed
Fix the instant wrecking during Online Rolling Starts - To Be Fixed
Fix the Lobby Race Start Counter freezing - To Be Fixed
Fix Spotter saying “Clear” too often - To Be Fixed
Improve general stability and freezing issues - To Be Fixed

Improvements:
Change the Gas indicator so it defaults to full in the pit stop interface - To Be Fixed
Draft effect both on the car and visual to be tweaked - To Be Fixed
In Private games, the host will start the timer when they are ready - To Be Fixed
Add support for the Porsche GT2 wheel - To Be Added
Add support for the T500 wheel - To Be Added
Allow the HUD to be completely turned off - To Be Added
Free up the A.I. cars so that when they are hit by a player they will get loose - To Be Fixed
Ensure only Carl Edwards performs a back flip - To Be Fixed
Add the ability to change your Online Car - To Be Added

Investigating:
A.I. being overly aggressive when bump drafting the player
A.I. difficulty being too easy when qualifying
A.I. pitting problems causing them to collide in to each other
A.I. bunching on certain tracks
A.I. slamming their brakes on for no reason
Hitting the wall often turns the car ending up with the player facing the wrong way"

Euetchnyx is for sure a stand out company. They are not cash cows and they want to make the game as good as possible, this was posted by Dave Thompson on the Eutechnyx forums. With these fixes the game will be great, especially the fact that they are STILL adding this that we want.

Sorry, just realized this was posted a page ago... Face palm on my part..

Re: NASCAR The Game 2011 Q&A and Impressions

I have to echo the statements I've seen in this thread around green flag pit stops being a bit off. It seems that when I do go in that I leave the pits in much worse shape than I would have anticipated. I've multiple times gone from 1st to last, and not just last but almost lapped. I'm not sure what is causing this but this might be something the team should look into.

That along with a caution almost every time the computer tries to go into the pit makes green flag pit stops useless.

Re: NASCAR The Game 2011 Q&A and Impressions

From Pastapadre.com today re: the release version of Nascar The Game 2011- "this is about as close to a retail product being a beta as you will find."

Yeesh, those be fightin' words right there! LOL.

I haven't bought or rented this game yet, but I am planning on making the purchase once the 2nd patch and 2011 DLC are released. I am very encouraged by Eutechnyx's prompt response to the community and motivation to quickly fix their bugs.

That said, I am totally appalled by what I have seen so far in terms of bugs and glitches. It's amazing to me that this many prominent problems made it through testing to the release version of the game, even after the game's release was initially moved back.

So yes, I am impressed that they really seem to be going for it in terms of patches and fixing bugs, but that in NO way gives them a pass for the atrocious release version of the game. Despicable.
