Yeah but the wow factor of that stuff is too late, these are things that should have been implemented years ago. After watching the teaser I was like (meh) also. I need to see more in the coming months to convince me to buy Madden again. Hopefully much improved gameplay, improved passing, improved presentation with a true halftime highlight show and highlights from around the league will get me excited.

I agree with the sentiment, but like a lot of things in life, if I can't control it, I can't worry about that stuff. If something happens that I don't like, I can't cry over spilled milk.

Not giving anyone a pass, just how I feel in life, in general.

This is a completely unfair and ridiculous standard by which to judge the merits of a video game. Who are you, myself, or any of us to decide what EA should have put into previous iterations of the game?

Will be another worthless Madden to me unless they have a TRUE (100% complete) online franchise.

Come on, compare the progression of this series to that of other games, particularly the franchise/career modes in other games, even those under the EA umbrella (FIFA, NHL) and it pales in comparison. While other games have made huge strides in certain areas, there's a sense that Madden has been making baby steps year after year. You can't blame the gamers for wanting more and not being all that impressed when there's stuff that was in previous gen games that is just now making it's way in for Madden 12.

So to answer the question of what should be in, it's not too much to ask for Madden to be up to the standards which have been set by other franchises year after year, which it has not been in recent years.

That's not what I'm getting at. It's fine to compare games' respective feature sets when forming an opinion of which is better.

My main problem with the "should already have this" argument is that it allows one to completely dismiss any effort that a developer puts in to adding a feature into a game where, within that series, it did not previously exist. It's a ridiculous sense of entitlement, and one that enables the "will never be good enough" line of thought which is just as ridiculous.
