Analyst: Madden Sales to Fall 50% if NFL Season is Cancelled

Heck, sales could fall more than 50% when there is an alternative -- NCAA Football 12. I got Madden with my PS3 and ended up selling it on ebay. I'd rather play classic teams on NFL2K5 on my PS2.

All this is hypothetical, as I'm not sure anyone actually believes at this point there will be no NFL season. They have 5-6 months to work something out. If by July they still have no CBA, have not made any progress with negotiations from now till then and are still taking jabs at each other through the media, then we can start panicking. Till then I wouldn't worry too much about it. All in all, I will refuse to believe next season will be effected by this until week one comes and goes without any games being played.

when i here comments like "we may only lose 2-3 games at the most" i get angry. The owners and players seem to forget that WE pay their $$$$$$$. The fans are the group getting forgotten about in this whole situatation and if they give me some half assed 10 game season this year they can go blow off.

I think they will see a 10% hit off of launch day . I think many will hold off till the season begins because of the delay of the offseason there will be many moves to be made. Madden Dev gonna have to be on their game this year I think with the possibility of a loss already projected they will have to try to make this the best game possible to recoup some sales.

+1. I don't frequent the Madden forums as much as I used to, since I've already decided not to buy this year regardless of any changes made. I'm just done for awhile--not enough innovation and lots of coasting, IMHO. Couple that with a library of other attractive games I've yet to touch and I'll be just fine.

But if sales decline, there will be no way of knowing what % is attributable to the lockout vs. disinterest, and of course EA will blame it only on the lockout.

50%!!!..No WAY!If anything they might drop 10-15%, but many will need their football fix even more...?????..And NCAA sales should also go up a bit
