Re: MLB 11 Trade Logic

Hmm I thought they did replicate years, but not the salary (because they're in the default roster screen this year).

Has any one played Nba 2k11? I posted something on this a while back.. and within a couple of weeks SCEA announced that some improvements were being made to the trade system. Anyway in Nba 2k11, when you are wanting to trade a player, Let's say.. Matt Holliday.. click on Holliday, and press "search" and it then finds all the offers from other teams for your player....... OR let's say I want to aquire Ryan Howard... I click on Howard.. click search , and the Phillies tell me who they want from my team for him.
I just think that it's a very cool system.... I think the trading in the Show is somewhat blah.... You try and make a trade and you either get a full bar or you you don't and in last years case .. a full bar didn't mean that the trade was going to go through...... It's a system that could use some changing that's all . The Show is the BEST baseball game.. Period! The trading in the game is the one thing that I don't think has ever been changed though.

For example, I just simmed to July 31st. Sabathia and Hughes got hurt and the Yanks are in 4th in the East...so they shipped Jeter to the Cubs for Castro and a good prospect. Makes sense to me since the Cubs are fighting for 1st in the Central (if anything the Cubs got ripped)

Other "name" guys who got traded were Rios (2 A prospects), Burnett (for Mike Minor), V-Dub (doesn't make $26 mil in this game hah), Teixiera (um...guess the Yanks are really going firesale mode haha...got Freeman + 2 A prospects though), Slowey and Tejada

You could argue with the Yankees firesale, but I think its pretty solid. Yanks system is absolutely loaded now too.
wait, so AJ, Tex and Jeter all got traded at the deadline?
wtf.
that is far from cool.
Firesale? no i'd say thats bad trade logic lol.

also, if Sabathia and Hughes got hurt, why in the world would u trade your only other 'reliable' starter?
Whos the number one starter for them now, Nova?
scratching my head here.

Re: MLB 11 Trade Logic

My hatred for the Yankees makes me love this ^^^ Lol. If that is how the trade logic is consistently then I'm really going to enjoy this years franchise. I hated having to control all 30 teams to prevent unrealistic trades.

Expiring contracts on non playoff competitive teams should be dealt to teams that are making playoff pushes so it's nice to see something like this happen. But the few people that think those deals are unrealistic might have a point b/c the Yankees NEVER unload. This year could be a first...

I would agree...except I guess you guys aren't old enough to remember the NON-Steingrabber Yankees of the mid 60's-mid 70's and even the early 80's somewhat. Certainly not the same style of GM mindset as today's Yankees.
You must keep in mind...that the dev team isn't just making a one, two or even just a 10 year franchise mode....it's an ongoing and meant to be FLUID(think cyclical perhaps)....thing. To lock it into the Yankees of today would be just as unrealistic as the trades mentioned and would have me scratching my head if the Yanks...in year 2025 after 8 consecutive losing years and aging do-nothings kept pouring $$ into the same kind of losing system without trying to reload.
It's a catch-22 really....

I'm pumped at the info about trade deadline activity!!!

M.K.

The logic sounds fine. The game doesn't seem to recognize them as The Yankees but a team in 4th place with a lot of big salaries and aging (32 and older) players. In general for most teams, those moves would be very logical if they knew they weren't competing this year but wanted to compete again soon.

The fact that Ryan Howard, Prince Fielder, Pujols and at least 2-3 other top names in the game weren't traded for A prospects says improvement for me.

ii hear ya. lol
but the Yankees are the #2 ranked team in the game, so for them to damn it all and start unloading 3 star players by the ASB because they had a bad first half, mind you thanks to injuries to the 1 and 2 starters, is a bit suspect. It should be cause for some alarm.
