It's just an indicator for fatigue (thinly disguised as a Gatorade advertisement). They need to be subbed out.

Go to options > my controller > controller settings > preferred position > None.

I love the game. So far I suck at MY PLAYER, but I love playing ASSOCIATION. Tried to play online but the WII kept dropping me.
