However, the lighting and physics are better. Looking forward to getting the game.
Byrd must've taken one too many trips to Mr. Conte's office, huh? I think the player models are MUCH better than last year but to each their own

he has switched his hand placement quite a bit over the years

ps - man there are some really crappy videos of him on youtube, otherwise I'd post you some changes in his stance/hand placement. check out his homer off Lidge in 05 vs any video you can find of him last year. He is way more crouched in 05 and the bat is further behind his ear vs. last year he is still crouched but not as much and the bat is a further out over the plate

I loved the ending of the video. I hope SCEA can find a new way to do commentary it just doesn't flow at all. The player models are much inproved. Wrigley Field is looking good.

Pujols also is known for switching his stance throughout the season, including hand placement so the picture you posted might not be the same model they were using for the game. Berkmans stance while the same as years past is pretty accurate. yes he does rest the bat on his shoulder but his actual hitting position and leg/feet placement are nearly perfect. Rasmus DOES need the 2 handed follow thru as you mentioned but his stance itself is nearly perfect and as for Carpenter, they did seem to tweak his a bit but I do agree on his that they needed to do a bit more work on it but it still isn't as far off as you're implying. Holliday's stance is better than last years I can tell you that. He had the bat wrapped far too far around his head last year and he too is a guy who often adjusts his stance in season. The stance in the video looks a bit more like how he batted for the Rockies because is a bit more straight legged now with the Cardinals but it is a fairly good representation. overall I have really liked what I have seen in the videos as far as updated stances go and again, you won't find a bigger stickler for stances/motions than me. They aren't going to get every one completely accurate and most of that has to do with the time it takes to motion capture, but the fact that they listened to a lot of our community's ideas/complaints from the past games, it is at least a step in the right direction.
If you read carefully, I said there was a picture (one of the screenshots I believe) that shows Albert's stance from the side. He does somewhat change his stance from time to time, but since around 04 his legs positioning/knee bend has stayed the same, and the way he bends his arm and the arm angles stay similar.
As for Holliday's, there is NO difference from last year
If Colby had the same stance from the beginning of last year, it would be close. That said, he changed his around many times last year, and if I can find a video of his last homerun, I believe he had an open stance (like much of the second half)
Berkman's bat position and his stride are very off
Carpenter's motion is pretty far off

I'm not arguing with you for the sake of arguing, and I believe you when you say you know alot about stances. That say, I watch the Cardinals day in, day out. I memorize their stances. If you want what I'm saying validated, I'd be more than happy to provide picture and video links. You can ask other Cardinals fans, these stances are pretty far off.

P.S: I also forgot to mention Yadi's in-game stance, it's atrocious. Though he also changes his stance many times a season, they all seem to have the same leg positioning and knee bend. He has never batted like his in-game stance, ever.

Re: MLB 11 The Show Video: St. Louis Cardinals vs. Chicago Cubs (Gameplay)

Finally finished watching the video and a few things I noticed (Positive/Negative)

Starting with the negatives -
- Karros... then again he's knew so it'll take some time. When he talks it really sounds like he's using a tape recorder and not "talking" to the rest of the crew
- The editing in this video...come on I want some RAW footage
- Is THAT the ticker they were talking about this whole time? Looks the same as last year's

Positives -
- Lighting looks AMAZING
- Player models are realistic along with the new batting stances such as Pena
- New commentary like the one where Pujols gets lined out
- LOVE the new color scheme on the guess pitch and the lineup card and the scoreboard thing on the top

Can't wait to try out the Demo but I need my PS3 asap.. it may feel like '10 but it sure does look BETTER (which was close to it but by maybe 5%)

His arms have stayed the same, the only thing that he has changed is the bat angle. His arms are no where near what they have been in real life his entire career.

As for the crouching, he's had the same wide stance with the same amount of bending at the knees his entire career also

P.S: All this said, the new stances (Castro, Ramirez, Freese) all look GREAT

I told you guys back at the CE on here that some stadiums like Wrigley, would not get it's completed structural changes till next year. That we got some cosmetic fixes like the concrete, etc.

Now people are getting rowdy and making noise? As if this was not expected?

And then some saying the gameplay is the same from this poorly edited video? Get over yourselves, seriously. Your loss then people. This game has taken the biggest leap in the series yet with not only the graphics, but fielding (gameplay).

Good grief.
