There are a lot of things to get excited about in there; expanded hit types (choppers, slicing/fading line drives) and improved distribution will go a long way to providing a much more realistic experience.

Great read! That blog would have been a perfect opportunity to show videos to go along with what was being described. Screenshots don't really show off pitching, hitting, running, and ball physics very well.
