I'm confused. I don't see where you got that you will be looking at the ball coming toward you. Maybe I read it wrong.

I think you are right.

First of all, when you hit the ball into the outfield, the camera hangs back as though you're watching the ball fly from the batter's perspective. This gives less of a tell to the outfielders where it's going to land, much like in the real world. And whereas 2K10 had a giant black shadow exactly where the ball is going to drop, 2K11 gives you the general circle of drop for just a second, then whittles itself down to a single target where you're going to have to react quickly to catch the ball.
It is just not going to go to the high perspective right away. Then you get limited info as to where the ball will drop. Better fielders will get better info.

I really love this. 2K brought me back to the series with 2K8's innovative approach to using the the RS. they are continuing to to refine and enhance the way we play the game in really positive ways.

2K had two problems with 2K8. It's frame rate was crap, and it took forever for a patch to come out that got to an acceptable level. But worse, 2K overreacted to complaints about how hard the game was. They went to far making the fielding and pitching easier over he last two releases.

It is starting to look like they are correcting that mistake.

I really like the idea of tracking balls in the outfield. Almost every game has made it too easy to do this and only speed mattered. About the only game that you really had to judge balls in the outfield was on Star League Baseball on the PC many years ago.

The previews sound good so far.

I will still hold the hitting model suspect. That was my least favorite portion of the game last year. I'm really hoping they've redone the entire control scheme and added more hit variety.

I think the hit variety is pretty good in 2K10, but it could use some improvement. I actually like having the different swing types as well, but I do wish it was easier to check swing with the right stick. Other than that, I really like the hitting as it is.
