NCAA Basketball 2K11 Beta Mod Available Now, Trailer Included (NLSC)

I am not going to say that this isn't a reskinned NBA 2K11 because literally that is exactly what this mod is. The only non-NBA part of this mod are the ratings which are directly copied from the CH 2k8 ratings system.

The last NCAA branded game to come out on PC was NCAA Basketball Final Four 97. I personally still play CH 2K8 on my 360 but dammit man, sometimes I just want to Flick Flick. lol.


Anyway, what I was hoping to ask what should I do to make NBA 2K11 play more like the college game? What sliders should I tweak, what ratings should I change, or what should I do with the coaching profiles? Does anyone know of a resource that can tell me what team runs what kind of plays?

I Don't know whether to go crazy and talk about how excited I am to see this...or shrug my damn shoulders and stomp my feet like a damn 7 yr because it's not on PS3 and it's just a giant tease!

I guess I'll just droll over the mod and pout about it not being on PS3 or 360 no time soon thanks to the NCAA and those non mattering ex college players starting lawsuits...! (sigh)

Czar, I know there is data to back your point, but (and perhaps it's because I grew up in a town where college basketball was/is king -- Syracuse) I still believe there is a market for college hoops gaming in this day and age ...

What I've been thinking would be nice to see is similar to what EA did a couple of years ago; release a March Madness bracket on XBL/PSN. With the NCAA having switched to the "generic" courts as seen in this vid, the developers wouldn't have to spend much time replicating that aspect of the game. That brings us to teams. Instead of doing 300-plus teams, you'd only have to focus on 68. Use the player model base from your NBA game, tweak the ratings and obviously, change the rules to college.

I'm sure this is something that is much easier said than done but I do think that if you released this for $14.99 that it would do well.

Again, this is coming from someone that's grown up in a town that loves its college hoops, so my perspective may be a little different, but I think it's at least worth looking into.
