Re: CES 11: Red Sox vs. Phillies Gameplay (Game Trailers)

noticed they added a bit more flair to the batter-up overlay.
now has the team specific color which is sweet.

I'd wish they would do away with the SHOW logo that is as big as the actual stat area itself lol
not to late to yank that. no?
simplicity is key.

i KNOW which game i am playing.

graphics?
are you kidding?
this is what the XBOX720 will look like!
just impressive straight up.

like the screen swipes.

I hope so, but I'll have to see Jayson Werth and Albert Pujols before I can confirm that the strike zone is based on the player's stance and not the height. In other words, two 6'2" men with completely opposite stances (one crouched and one upright) should not have the same strike zones, and this was the case for every version of The Show up until [potentially] now.

Keeping fingers crossed!

They use 2xAA in the game. Have been every year. I fail to see where there are "jaggies" everywhere in a 320p video.

Re: CES 11: Red Sox vs. Phillies Gameplay (Game Trailers)

The person playing the at bat does not know what he is doing. He kept hitching back. The epilepsy comes from him hitching back on the R stick too early, but then not holding it back. Graphics and models look great, but despite "real time presentation" it is the same umpire, walkup, and strikeout cutscenes from 3 years ago.

Liked that the Umps apparently got the same treatment as the players in terms of proportions (IMO, they were worse before). Also really liked the slow motion view of Beckett at the end...the motion looked much more fluid with the longer arms (more snap to the motion than push, if that makes sense).

All presentation elements do not get added to the game until close to it being finished. We may not even see everything next week when we go.

This is an early build. I am sure they added a lot more in the presentation department.

Yep. And it will continue to be tweaked all the way up until they are ready to ship.
