I'm really not digging this patch one bit. This is the problem with 2k. They always make radical changes that are unneeded instead of fixing the few problems that is agreed on within the community that needs fixing. They really damaged this game IMO. This game was a masterpiece when first shipped. All they needed to do was to make a couple of changes. Instead they make indexed changes.

and the timing online is even worst
also i still have a problem not knowing who im passing the ball to when playing O. and the a.i. rebounding and box outs suck too

I have to disagree with you on this one man. This patch was very necessary. The game, while top notch when first released, was far from a masterpiece. There were numerous problems that need addressing; some of which ruined the experience for many players (And I'm not talking about the difficulty level). Just calm down man, the 2k developers know what they're doing. How can you say they made a masterpiece then insinuate that they don't know what they're doing all in the same breath? If you have that much dedication to 2k, at least trust them to make the right decisions with their game.

You should be able to back them up on a flash drive.

Re: NBA 2K11 Patch v1.2 Available Now, Post Impressions Here

I'm loving the new patch, I seriously didn't have any issue's with the game before the patch except for it freezing when just starting up the game and it went to load the files and settings. I also haven't had any issue's since the patch either.

Well, I've noticed the changes that was made like dunks and layups not being unstoppable anymore and now if there's any contact then it adjusts accordingly, I especially like how everyone (or at least the people that are supposed to) boxes people out when rebounding. Yes that may make offensive rebounds much harder now, but it CAN still be done. It's just a matter of position and timing, for example you might have a guy on the other team tip the ball when jumping up instead of grabbing it right away and if you time it right then you can get the rebound. I also like how the CPU now attempts to steal the ball and is subjected to the reach in foul. I could have sworn the CPU NEVER got a reach in foul before the patch.

As for the shooting thing/issues? I haven't come across any. I have noticed that I do miss a little more than usual, but I also thought it seemed correct as well depending on who, where, and when I was playing. For example, I'm using the Bulls in Association Mode (with the 91-92 version of Michael Jordan who I traded Scalabrinie for before starting the Association because I didn't like how the Create a Legend Mode worked with you just being MJ the whole time like in My Player) and I'm on the "circus road trip" that the Bulls are currently on as well (well just finished last night), and during this road trip I've noticed that on back to back games or when I had practices scheduled on each day off before a game then come the next game they would tend to miss more than they were the previous game as well as got tired faster. Then on days that I gave them a full day off or two then it would get a little better, but again it still seemed to miss a little more especially on 3 pointers when on the road compared to being at home which also would make perfect sense.

I really think 2K just made some tweaks to the game to make it a little more realistic to be honest. I mean that's what EVERYONE and their mothers were whining about and now when it's to realistic people still aren't happy and I think this was made even more apparent in My Player from what people have been saying. I know it's a video game per say, but it's a SIMULATION type video game and rookies don't come out being the all star superstar player that people were being before the patch getting 30+ points and either 10+ rebounds or assists per game. Most of the time you will come off the bench and just have to work your way from there. Plus hearing some of the people saying their player is 99 in this and that kind of already seems like they were cheesing or doing something to raise their players stats off the bat and I believe 2K was trying to stop that and put cap limits so people couldn't go and max out their players to a full 99 in everything?

The way I see it, is if you want a more "arcade" type basketball game then go and create your player and play association mode. Matter of fact, there just might be an option for you to be able to just control the one player as well instead of the whole team. Then for the people that want to play a more sim-type game like it's played in real life in the NBA then they'll go to the My Player mode or Association Mode as well.

I also agree that there should be options, but if this was what 2K wanted their game modes to be like, then everyone is just going to have to adjust and deal with it. This is what everyone wanted in the first place, was a simulation of the NBA and I think that was the main focus this year. Go to the settings and options and adjust to you see fit and play from there.

Also I have everything set to default. I don't mess with sliders or any of the settings except for calling time outs manually and maybe doing the substitutions manually sometimes. As well as 8 min quarters on the difficulty level that's the next one up from Pro. I can't remember what it was called because I just changed it recently because playing on Pro ended up getting to easy.
