i dont think you can say they'll never recover from this because people will always be looking for the next best thing. Yes 2k is way ahead of them right now but people can grow tired of playing the same 2k year after year and may want to have some variety, 2k may become complacent and allow other developers to close the gap.

The problem is these days expecatations crush these developers. If their next release isnt as good as 2k (which it wont be) then people it will crush it and say theyre done. Really they cant be on 2k's level for at least 3 years when they really get the game where they envision it to be. Its too much to expect in 1 year. But to say they can never recover is a little much.

I think that NBA Live series can recover. First off return to NBA Live not Elite. The name Elite will forever be tied to this failure. Take the control scheme perfect it. Advertise and promote the game like crazy. Drop the price down to $49.99 as a thank you to your loyal customers who are returning. I admire the fact that they said "this game is bad" pulled it and updated NBA Live 10. If only they would patch NCAA BB 10 I would have nothing left to slam on EA about. (hint, hint)

How can people admire EA? I don't understand the logic.

We had a deadline to get our work done. But it was terrible. So we just decided not to turn it in at the deadline.

I just don't understand it.

EA already abandon the PC market. When they did that they made me very angry. The products they continue to produce are hit or miss, with a lot of negativity tied towards them.

At some point it is just EA being an inept company. Too bad for exclusive licenses in other sports and the NCAA.

EA should abandon the basketball market. Concentrate on the hockey and soccer titles, and improve Madden. Leave the basketball to 2K.

No, then Basketball will end up like their Baseball series. EA owned 2K in Baseball and now SCE is doing the same with The Show.

After Live 10' made some improvement, I though the end was near with 2K until 2K11. 2K need to keep it up and not get complacent like what EA did with Madden and 2K with their baseball because until the NFL license is up, Basketball is all they have now that their hockey series has gone exclusively to the Wii. Competition is what drove 2K11 to be a great game.

Elite has the right ideas but it simply wasn't ready to be released to the public. I'm not defending EA at all because a week prior to its released, they were all excited about Elite and then all of a sudden it's a bad game.

I think EA makes good basketball games, now they just need to make a great one.
Their presentation is awesome. And the ESPN overlays are the bestest.
I even think the graphics look awesome.
Hopefully everything else in Elite 11 will be up to snuff.
