What the hell did they spend 6 years doing with this game. What a joke. they won't be getting my money because I can guarantee online will be a joke like it is for every other sports game so with all these track and car limitations this game will get boring quick. I don't have time to dick around with a track editor, just give me some new tracks. I'll wait 6 months and get it for $25 (something tells me there will be a ****load of used copies around) used if there aren't any bugs which is highly unlikely.
I don't really think you understand how time consuming it is to rebuild from the ground up to the caliber it is? Did you read the review? The guy said the game physics and graphics were both superb.

Re: Gran Turismo 5 Official Car and Track List

I don't think anybody is questioning how time consuming it is to model these cars and tracks. Forza 3 had 2 years of development, but had 200 contractors around the world just modeling cars. PD doesn't outsource anything.

I'm in agreement that the lists are disappointing, especially the cars. Its got the "wow factor" with it being 1,000+, but just 6 models make up 150 cars. Why does there need to be 50 Skylines? Like I said, I would much rather have a trimmed down roster to 300-500 cars if it meant all had interiors and cockpit views. The whole standard vs. premium thing is really odd, and it makes the standard cars for me even more disappointing because GT doesn't have a proper hood cam. It's not a deal breaker for me though, just disappointing.

Amen brother. I'm not knocking it out just yet but the hype machine went into overdrive with this puppy. This is the only game that beats Madden when it comes to hype.

See now this I don't understand, people (well we know which people) were touting Prologue as physics from god, then we find out the physics for this game was "rebuilt from the ground up". Why on earth would you rebuild perfection from the ground up, makes no sense. You rebuild something when you know you really didn't build it right to begin with.

How about we all wait until the game is out before we start criticizing it. Seriously, all of the people in this thread that are criticizing people for overhyping this game to a fault are doing exactly the opposite, to a fault. I will not be passing judgment on this game until it is in my hands, and I would hope others do the same.

Re: Gran Turismo 5 Official Car and Track List

That's definitely an impressive list of cars although it seems heavily bloated by slight model variations and model years.

But doesn't the track list seem underwhelming?? Where are the tracks? are they all going to be DLC?

Based on the car list I would have hoped to see some more of the touring car tracks like Donington, Brands Hatch or maybe even Mondello Park.

Also there is very little from the world of F1, maybe Silverstone or Spa...need some space to stretch out the legs of some of those cars properly. Personally I was hoping for the Singapore street circuit

I'm also a little surprised they didn't include somewhere like a Button Willow or maybe even Willow Springs...With all the configurations it is a great environment to shake down a car.

Re: Gran Turismo 5 Official Car and Track List

I think there are tracks that are locked and need to be unlocked, also there is a race track creation tool, which is very simple to use from what I read.

The lack of Road America saddens me.

Really disappointed not to see any '06-'10 Dodge Charger's on there... I recently traded my 07 Charger RT in for a Grand Cherokee and I was hoping to have one in GT5 to keep the dream alive, haha.
