Good man.

When I get out of this school work funk, I'll be popping this in faster than you can say "Saskatchewan."

Re: Skate 3 Review

Super late to the Skate party, but picked this up yesterday for $10 (20-10 off). I've been meaning to try a Skate game since the first one came out and am FINALLY getting around to it. What a great game. I'm liking it a lot more than the TH series. I might not have thought that back when I was enjoying the hell out of those early TH games, but now, this is right up my alley. TH series got extremely stale, and I didn't even play the last couple versions. I could only take so much x45-multiplier circus tricks before it lost its luster.

What I can't get over is how amazing the soundtrack is. There is not a song that I would ever skip on there. Very impressive.

I only got a couple hours in last night, but I love that it's actually hard to pull tricks off. When you land a trick, you feel like you actually did something. Steep learning curve, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm sure this has all been said before, but thought I'd bump this up in case there was someone else out there who hasn't tried these out. It's well worth the $20.

Re: Skate 3 Review

This game is a blast. It didn't improve on some things I wish it had, and it removed some things that the first two did well, but it's still the best skateboarding game out there to date. I still haven't tried this puppy online yet.

Once I get my game up to snuff, I'll give it a try. I'll add you on PSN later.

Re: Skate 3 Review

Can't believe I missed this thread. I LOVE Skate 3. Played it more than any other game, ever. I still play it to this day. When I play other games like The Show or 2K, I get bored with the structure (why can't I go out of bounds, why do I have to pitch when I want to hit, what's with these time limits, etc.). So I pop in Skate 3, and it's amazing.

Skate 3 is the best in the series, too. Just for kicks, I played Skate 3, followed by the prior two Skate games and Tony Hawk's Underground. It was night and day as far as the breadth of tricks, the ability to go where you want, and the Object Dropper to make your own spots. It is so rewarding to land a trick on Hardcore mode with a kickflip or ollie that isn't fully compressed on the stick.

Great game, and the more I play it, the more I think of additions that they can make. Unfortunately, it looks like this last game will actually be the last. Good thing it doesn't get old.

Just for fun (I'm not one of those guys who normally pimps his footage or stats in games, but I really enjoyed doing this):

Third clip in this one, and one at the end:

Second guy in this video:

First trick and third full part in this one:
