But you have to be good with hitting the defend button, or back on the stick. I think the rating makes it so you have a longer time to push them off after they attempt it. If your rating is low, I'm guessing you have to be right on with it.
i just played murilo rua and he had as much success as shogun in getting me in the clinches. Are you sure to block their muay thai clinch attempts we use the sprawl button? no parries ? it's fine on medium level, but on hard level they spam the muay thai clinch and you fewel like you have no weapons to counter it.

not only that, the cpu is much more punch happy on Hard level....anyone noticing the same things?

I found medium level better to be honest and believe it or not, it's much easier to KO the cpu on Hard than medium since they're so punch happy.

Yopu wait for the perfect counter and BAM, TKO....happens much more on hard than medium level.

Question on career mode difficulty...

I'm starting out with a jiu jitsu guy and I'm 4-0 (or 5-0) with all my wins as very fast submissions (either chokes or kimuras). I'm at whatever the default difficulty is, do I need to up it or do the guys get tougher as I go on? I can just get into a sub position easily and can cinch in the first sub every time...

Career is fun though, this is a much cooler way than UFC, that always seemed to confuse me with so much to do.

Awesome game, I'm really enjoying the differences...both UFC and this are fun, and different...hopefully THQ takes some hints from here...

Oh don't worry it gets difficult. My first fight in Japan, I'm getting rocked on the stand up so I go for the takedown but the guy reverses it and catches me in a guillotine choke and I tap out. My guy is Jiu Jitsu fighter with a 93 submissions rating.

I'm on Medium and it does get tougher with the other leagues.

Re: EA Sports MMA Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here

Just went to another decision. Even fight again however I know I lost the first round since he landed a bit more strikes took and me down. Second round was completely even. Third round I did great I got 3 takedowns, out struck him and just controlled him from mount and from his back for the last 2 mins.

Judge 1: 7 10 10
Judge 2: 8 10 10
Judge 3: 8 10 10

Yes I received two 8's and a 7 in the first round when I suffered nothing severe. I wasn't rocked, I wasn't ever in any trouble. He had a TD and landed about 10 more strikes then me. Since I have never even seen a 7 in real life I will go ahead and say that is just stupid to even include it in this game. The only time I have seen an 8 is when the round could have been stopped in the judges eyes. Which does not apply in that round at all I just fought. The thing that really makes me mad is because there is a reason a 7 is not seen in real life. To give one out means that judge has already declared the winner in one round in a three round fight. Horrendous. I'm a very patient and controlling fighter. Sometimes I go to a decision but as it stands right now I would rather the computer just flip a coin for a winner then have to stare at these BS scorecards.

I am ok at them but the AI will put you out in under 5 seconds on legend. It just isnt even a fair fight.

I would recommend moving up the difficulty. The fights do get harder because the guys you face will have better stats, but as a submission specialist, you wont face as many of those. If you just focus on going for a takedown then trying for a sub(Which you have to do against guys with good stand-up), you will get wins pretty quickly. Lengend IMO is a very fair balance except for AI being able to take a guy with 33 choke submissions and choke a guy with 95 choke submissions.

That's not very enlightening to hear. I have a boxer that sucks @ the ground game, but is above average in submissions (my little cheat if I get taken to the ground). I'm great at the limb subs, that's a W when I slap those on especially since I got the special chain subs move.

Speaking of chaining subs, is their a sweet spot when to press A? I'm hit and miss w/ it
