"Hopefully, the delay will allow us as a community to help fix the problems we saw in the NBA Elite 11 demo and make the postponement worthwhile. I strongly suggest we jump on any opportunity to provide constructive feedback and definitely not shy away from posting detailed opinions and suggestions. "This sucks" and "EA sucks" are not going to accomplish anything. There's a time and a place to express those sentiments of course but if we're presented with an opportunity to make the delay worthwhile, then I feel we have to make the most of it."

Best thing said in all 3 articles. Obviously EA is listening to us now, telling them how much they suck, is not going to help anyting.

"Make no mistake about it EA Sports is not doing the consumer a “favor” by delaying NBA Elite 11, this was a business decision first and foremost. The game was sure to get poor reviews, drop in sales even further, and kill the reboot that the company had invested so heavily in. It does save those people who had bought into the PR about the game being revolutionary, fans of the Live series, and those who wanted NBA Jam, from getting what would have been perceived as being fooled and misled. We’ll have to see where they go from here before fully accessing the damage that has been done and the future prospects of NBA products from EA Sports."

Good links Steve. I was surprised that PP thinks EA may go back to the Live name, despite everything this year working towards getting AWAY from the Live name. Personally, I loved Live 10 and if they decided to go back to that engine, polish and refine it, and put out a smoother and more sim Live 12, I'd be thrilled.

But EA obviously made the right move. Elite 11 was going to get brutalized by both critics and game players alike. And they may have done fatal damage to their fan base by releasing an unready product.

Hopefully the delay will be worth it.

The problem is EA have gotten away for so long with releasing games that they know had issues or had only received minor upgrade from the previous iteration. The fact remains that EA only cancelled Elite in the face of it's far superior opposition. A good business decision would have been to recognise problems much earlier on & take an additional year of development (as per 2K with their NHL game) or released the product as a collegiate game instead.
