Post game is deadly once you sort it out - just focus on mastering one move at a time. My fav combo: Drop step -> jab step -> fade away - if the drop step doesn't lose the defender, the jab step -> fade away almost always gives you room to get your shot off.

Hey Stepsix, how do you perfom a drop step ,is that just with the left stick whilst in post up mode,I can do up and under but not drop step.cheers

PlayMakers is right about the shot percentages there - did you say that was on All-Star? Ray Allen had a midrange shot that should have gone down imo...I'll look into that.

I haven't seen anyone using the offball controls - this year the ball carrier and offball players will react to you setting screens for them, so for example you can switch offball, set an offball screen, your teammate spots up, and direct pass to him (you'll stay offball switched), and then tell him to shoot by hitting up on the right stick. After you set a pick you can roll to the hoop by letting go of the left trigger and jacking your left stick at the hoop.
You and rEAnimator was right, this is the funnest b-ball game I ever played even with the problems it have. Unpredictable gameplay is where its at and I think the more time people spend with Elite they will understand where this series is headed.

I like it better on Super Star....

CPU plays with more aggressiveness....they still do some scratch your head type things but mostly their attack style kinda offsets it IMO.

I've been messing with the sliders in the demo so for me the gameplay has changed from the out of the box demo play.....you guys know me i have to tweak something or else i'll go crazy...........

I started editing the Celtics playbook getting more shots for Pierce and Allen. I don't like JO touching the ball much because that dude shoots way too often and it looks corny.

If i switch over and play the Lakers i edit their playbook to the KOBE TRIANGLE LOL!

That way Mr Ball Hog forces up more shots against me and Mr HOF D.Fisher (Live/Elite PG disaster) doesn't get as many shots.

I try to play more uptempo even though neither team plays that way.....but it makes it fun for me and the crowd seems to get loud doing the up and down gameplay....by the way crowd is awesome and i'm starting to really like Mike Breen and crew they don't get enough prop's for their announcing as Kerr and Albert became kinda stale to me.

Some of the dunks help to make the game look a little better in a sense that you don't get to see as many ugly layups.....I put CPU inside shot slider up way high and my fouls slider up high aswell seems to make the interior post play look more lively

I wish there were seperate shot blocking sliders one for inside and one for outside.....I'd love to lower the outside shot blocking way down but leave the inside shot blocking way up because it would make post defense much better and very challenging for the CPU. I know they used to have a layup/dunk shot block slider must have removed it.

I'd also like to see the old layup/dunk frequency slider because that would stop some of the silly odd looking shots inside....if a guy is within range to dunk like Bynum or JO they should attack the basket not shoot a soft jumper facing backwards it looks like they are shooting backwards at the goal.

A dunk layup slider would make them go up strong for the dunk inside.

Kinda weird because the wing players seem to be more aggressive looking for dunks inside than the big guys.......not sure why that happens but i've seen it often now.

I'd hate to see Super Man playing inside settle for some soft a$$ jump shot when he should be dunking on clowns.....

As for the controls well like i said several times i never really had issues with Live controls in years past. Elite controls took me a few days to adjust and i still don't have everything down pat but I'm learning new things every day and they feel pretty awesome. I love the ability to clown dudes in the open floor with dribble moves on the break you have to do it quicky and time them right or else you'll slow down and the defenders will catch up.....i hate how defenders catch Rondo sometimes totally unrealistic but some it is because of me trying to handle the rock and showboat with Rondo on the break

If i could add one thing right now it would be to make the CPU push the ball more......i figure animations can't be patched or updated but i'm hoping they can atleast boost up the CPU's transistion game for this year and i'll be set playing the game on Super Star with a fast pace

I have trouble dunking with the big guys as well. they'd be right next to the basket, and they instead "soft shot" it.

I'm still learning the controls but I'm having a blast with it so far I keep hitting the old turbo button lol. I give ea props for trying something new. I have a feling that with in the next two development cycles once the basic game play is set NBA Elite might be on par with its hockey brothers..

NHL guy trying NBA Elite 11: Baby I like it!

And let me tell you... Baby I like it!!! I just like the way the basketball moves on the floor..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X9_n8jakvWU&ob=av2e

I don't know if it is because I play NHL 11 but I really like NBA Elite 11.. All the people that are complaining seem like they are just so used to the arcade versions of NBA live 10 that they can't handle SKILL!!!

Anyways, I tried the demo and it is not perfect but it is still a lot of fun once you get good at it!

You really have to let the controls grow on you. Once you get used to it, it will be a lot of fun.. I plan on making a club and being at the top just like I do in NHL 11..

Trust me, you are going to be addicted to online Team Play and EASBA especially when your top club faces another top club..

lol I thought I would get that reaction. I am the girl dancing on the bed in my underwear.

But anyways... yeah that game is good now. It is no longer random and I can actually control my shot, defense etc.. People who try and play arcadey will probably get burned unless they know a glitch (hook shot glitch) but I am sure that will be fixed
