Does anyone else think that Free Throw shooting has taken like 5 steps back outside of me, with its Elite shooting?

i am playing this demo and i am saying to myself if this or this animation gets REMOVED this situation would have been expressed better.

i think from what i have seen there is enough here to make a solid bball game but someone needs to get a list of the un sim broken animations and go in and remove them

if 5 of them were removed this game could be way better.
Unless they have more sliders included in the game than the demo showed how much would edited ratings really matter?

For example what if Off the Ball awareness is no longer in the game then how would you fix the AI's half court offense?

For dribbling you can lower all the ball handling skills down for big guys like Bynum and Shaq to make them basically struggle to handle the rock....

But for a guy like Chris Paul i'm guessing he's already a 99 in that category and i don't think there is anything that can be done to make Paul go behind the back or between the legs being controlled by the AI

I didn't see any game speed slider so you are basically at EA's mercy when it comes to player movement (sliding/Rocket Dunks/fast animations)...you can probably still tweak speed, quickness ratings to make things look a little more fluid doing animations but again there would have to be some kind of speed slider to balance it out IMO.

They said verticals weren't going to be touched because they made them that way by design.

It's kinda hard to say how the game would play without really knowing what ratings they left in the game and removed. From the look of the sliders it wouldn't surprise me if they removed a handful of ratings making most of it become tied into USER control

The sliders appear to have been removed because of that approach....CPU won't execute very well in the halfcourt set right now based on the limited amount of sliders to customize the game.

This is something I've seen done by the CPU when I changed the playcalling to auto for the CPU's team. I was actually taken off the dribble by Pierce and he broke me down with a few dribble moves and a spin move for a dunk.

Same thing happened with Kobe where he did a little in and out dribble along with some other moves to get past me. Then got into the paint did a euro step into some fade jumpshot type of move. Which was something I hadn't seen any other AI controlled player do.

Did it look great NO because it was hard to tell what he was doing because of the spastastic animations. But the potential for things you want above should be available this year thanks to the Real-AI.

The Speed,Vertical of players will be the first thing i edit.. is it me or does every player have the same speed and vertical ability??? how does Shaq out run Kobe Bryant...

They get rid of the advancements the Live 10 control had made and start over, while the 2K team basically copies and enhances the movement and momentum of Live 10. It didn't have to be this way...EA didn't just give 2K the crown, they gave them the throne for the next several years.
what are you talking about? Live actually enhanced the controls, the problem exist in them getting rid of 2 player animations, and instead going with RTP. Thats why the game looks so bad, because the animations dont look good as of right now. But EA didnt take steps back at all in the control department. And how in the wrold did 2k steal momentum from EA. As far as i know 2k has been using momentum. Its EA that needs to start implementing more momentum into their games. Thats why people are complaining about all the sliding in Elite.

That's the key slowing down things so animations can be seen clearly and look more natural

This is why they need a game speed slider......i didn't see one in the demo at all.

Maybe it's in the game for the retail version if so then it opens up a couple of options in terms of editing the game from player movement standpoint like that spastatic term you used to describe the animations

Slow it all down keeping them grounded to the floor would make this game move a lot better than the demo showed

I think a lot of guys will eventually edit the ratings....starting with verticals 1st that is the biggest culprit out of the box if EA doesn't decide to adjust it with a DNA update or patch.

It should be interesting to see what exact ratings they retained this year for the game.

I actually think this game is somewhat fun and has some potential. Right now a lot of weird things are going on but i like the feel of the game.

NBA 2K; played the demo for 30 minutes and hated it. I will not be buying this game.

NBA Elite; played the demo for 20 minutes and thought the controls were better, but the presentation was not. Stick control isn't as complicated as the trigger dribbling for 2K. I may buy this game.. but I doubt it.

NHL 09-11 are way better than any of this crap.
