Coming from a long time live player, this demo is disappointing. As many have stated before, why didn't they build off of live 10, which I thought was great. I feel like they took alot of steps back with elite 11.

KG on the other hand, is so freaking ghoulish looking in this game especially at the freethrow line. I couldnt put my finger on why KG looks so dang scary in this demo, but I realized what and why it reminded me of this:

You can literally replace MJ with Garnett in Thriller. Its not even funny.
No one may believe this but I've read every single post on this 65+ page thread and this by far was the funniest!

In all seriousness, I thank the EA devs for providing the best sports demo ever in terms of it being robust. Say what you want but they could've just given us a 5 minute demo and called it a day. They are being so upfront about everything and that refreshing to see all around - especially the NCAA team. I am in the minority that likes the game (and yes, I"m a ridiculously huge fan of another hoops title that shouldn't need to be named) and I see the vision they have for it. They are trying to make a NBA game for ballplayers (b/c you can control everything as if you were really in that situation) which I love. The total control - like FNR4 - is what keeps me playing this demo. I can overlook graphics and headbands and sock colors. I'm not going to address the issues that have been beaten to death. I think they get the point. Is is perfect - no. Its funny how people now "loved" Live 10 today b/c they play Elite 11 when I'm sure that wasn't the case previous to its numerous patches. It's not THAT much worse that Live 10 overall and you've all played this game for less than 72 hours.

I don't think this demo is even bad - in fact this entire situation reminds me of the BackBreaker fiasco on here (a game I enjoy still) and that's disheartening b/c we live in a society of few leaders and many followers and I think many of the opinions expressed on here are based on either reading this thread and THEN PLAYING or NOT EVEN PLAYING THE GAME AT ALL (band-wagoners).

I don't post a lot but visit and read here DAILY so these are just my impressions of the situation on here and the game.

I'll post a full in depth viewpoint of the demo after I've played it for a few days - like Friday.

Just got a chance to play the 360 version, IMO this is by far the superior version to go with - it plays much better than the PS3. I still find both versions somewhat dark on my ISA certified LED TV, never had this problem before. The game seems to have poor lighting, the players actually are fairly detailed when you zoomed up close on the FT line, though the overall image is dark and it takes away from the game. Obviously the stilted movement is much more of a serious issue, guys falling and jumping like pieces of lumber or something.

Re: NBA Elite 11 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here (PS3, 360)

After playing most of the day (long lunch break) I came back to work to think about this game and where I stand going forward.

I like the idea of the new controls. I like that they are doing something different but, what was wrong with last years controls? I know you can go back to them but, was it really worth investing all that time and money into doing something totally different? IMO, NO not even close. They could've put there resources into something that would've made the game better. Fix fast brakes, fix rocket dunks, fix sliding, etc... I could go on and on. But, they decided to scrap something that wasn't broken in favor of something that doesn't translate well when there's 10 guys on the court. This is just my opinion.

At this point, this will be the 1st year that I don't buy NBA Live (Elite) and this hurts me. I was such a big fan of this game and the series that it saddens me. I just don't get why they felt the need to spend all there time and energy changing something that was fine the way it was.

Anyway, I'm out, good luck going forward EA.

I see the wars between the fanboys of these two games must have been serious when you cant even mention the differences and similarities between 2 basketball games without warning of a ban....but anyway.

IMPRESSION....I like the controls. Very simple, easy to get into. After the tutorial I didn't have a problem pulling off any of the moves that I had just learned. Other than the controls though I feel like the game lacks polish and maybe that's because its not a final build, IDK. But there is a noticeable lack of graphical polish, animations, weird jumps and movements, etc. I will say though that if this is the foundation of what they hope to build for the future, they are moving in the right direction.

Man I tried going back to the 360 version of the demo (which is miles ahead of the ps3 demo) but I am Just simply not enjoying it. This seriously reminds me of when the ps3 first came out and we got that lackluster effort out of EA the first year of next gen gaming.

After last years game, this demo is seriously disappointing. I just can not understand how a company can release this game in the year 2010-2011.

The competition is light years ahead of this game now that EA has gone back to square one, what 6-7 years into the next generation of gaming.

I'm glad that I didn't trade in 2010.

The one positive about the game is that when I am pulling off moves I don't feel like the computer is taking control of my player, but that is seriously THE only positive that I have.

2) Mid-air collisions on shots all adjust to circus shots. This is annoying but tolerable for say, dunk attempts from players athletic enough to try them. The issue is when contact during hook shots causes Shaq/Bynum to go from a hook to some crazy switch hands layup. One size does not fit all here.

3) I don't know about anyone else, but shooting is pretty damn difficult on Superstar. I like it.

4) Live has had a skinny Shaq for quite some time but Elite's takes the cake. I mean come on. And what stat governs backing down, because Bynum pushes Shaq out everytime in Elite.

5) rEAnimator, can you do the double clutch shot in this demo? I tried the method posted to no avail.
Yes, the double clutch is in there, but it doesn't alter the animation (unfortunately) it only alters the shot trajectory.

You should notice a much higher shot arc.

Lick down the right stick just before you release the shot to pull it off.

I'm just about to boot up the demo myself so I'll double check, but it should be in there.
