Sigh.
that's what i don't understand...i posted this about 2 pages back

i don't like the bynum situation but it doesn't surprise me that all players can dribble a like....i can live with that to a certain extent

but that shot by JO is the goofy %$#@ that we've seen for 5 years now...it's the type of thing that makes you scratch your head and ask how the heck does a developer not see this as a problem or better yet how do they keep accepting this tight of stuff in the game.

Re: NBA Elite 11 Demo Available, Post Impressions Here (PS3, 360)

I think fun, like graphics, is in the eye of the beholder. Being able to have total control over my player is refreshing, but the lack of realistic AI is not fun to me(I mention did in my previous post so i wont mention here). The pacing in the game is erractic. One minute i'm dribbling normal and when i pass the ball the the guy catching all of sudden speeds up. And these are stand still passes not lead passes. REanimater mentioned that the rocket dunks are fixed/will be in the retail version, so i will not hound on those but from what i heard last the veritcal will remain the same. And this leads to another area of problems for me, rebounding/blocking. As i mention before some of the animations are just out of place when it comes to rebounding, its almost like the wrong animation was selected to "play out". Blocking is way too frequent both user and AI, 8 blocks in 5 mins by one team(i didn't even want to see the CPU numbers) is way too much. Its almost like its either a block or a clean shot attempt and nothing in between. I have yet to see an air ball from a contested shot. I hope the game itself improves but if the demo reflects the final retail version. It is a ways off from being an authentic NBA experience. I'm a little bias in my opinion because i play heavy offline user vs CPU.

While it wasn't as bad as expected, it still falls far short of the 2k11 demo despite having more meat to it. I was happy with the control scheme though it took some getting used to. The videos make Elites graphics look worse than they actually are but they are still far behind the times and look very outdated. The animations looked and felt awkward at times. The AI made too many head scratching plays (bad passes, bunched up defense). I like the fact that EA put out a demo with more than one game mode which will help them with some diehard EA fans. In the long run I don't see Elite even competing with 2k11.

About 2 pages back I posted a warning about the 2k comparisons. I hope everyone understands we're serious

Not liking the defense in this game. Evan Turner shot in my face and dunked through me and my teammates in the Jordan game.

I realize I am in the minority on this forum but oh well. I really like this game and am totally behind what he EA dev team is trying to accomplish. I love the player control and the controls themselves are awesome IMO. Now I have been playing NHL 11 the last several weeks so the controls now feel very natural to me so it really wasn't that much of a learning curve which I think helped me like this game unlike others.

EA now has the basic controls down and RTP which is the most important aspect to me. Now the rest will follow and get more refined in the following years and I am fine with that. I can't wait for the retail version.
