It could be done. Just takes two intelligent individuals, not unlike ourselves, to sit down and have a debate over whether it should be tried. I wouldn't use euphoria though. It's seems to be specifically tailored to football. It was just an example to show how it could be done. Tackle physics is not unlike in air collisions and take charge physics in basketball. And the other guy is also right about signature moves. The finess part of basketball is very important but as there aren't really signature collisions in bball that point I'd kinda mute. Whats to say that signature dribbling styles and shooting form couldn't be graphed into specific character models. Kobe and only Kobe plays like Kobe but within the rules of the physics engine. And what's to say having separately running engines to govern players and the ball is bad. That's essentially what real basketball is. But you bring up alot of good point though. Good discussion.

swac07 what dont we understand i like 2k over EA. All im saying is that if ur on the fence about get a basket ball game this demo does not help 2k. Alot of people dont read all the hype they wait til they get their hands -on the game. for people like that, the demo is the first chance they get to play the game. now a lot of people that played 2k 10 , nba live 10 or never wanted to play a basket ball vid game until LJ went to MIA are turn off by this demo its for the hard core b/c the only thing it teaches you is how to shoot free throws. a lot of players cant pull off the new dribble moves an other features this frustrates people and turns them off.EAs demo show you how to do all the new features they do a better job at the demo stage (not the game) Bac in 03 i played the demo of 2k 4 it was good(a great looking game) but live was better(over all) with the free style(the control of your player witch is something 2k admits that they fix this year). live just played better for 3 years 2k knew this that why the price of there games is was $20. I dont buy games based on hype or on what they did last year. I wait until i get my hands on them and see witch one of them i like better

Well based on the reaction on facebook, Operation Sports, Twitter, 2k forum and other game site you're wrong people love the demo and word of month is spreading, people may complain that it is to short and you can only play with the Laker but the general consensus is that the game has the potential to be SGOTY we live in the information age alot of info is getting to the public like never before every time 2k posts a new article or insight or video you see it every where and there are hundreds of comments and in response to the controls 2k has also released a video for the control maybe you need to look at it it one youtude as well as the 2k forum. The other company has yet to release anything about there game controls yet you give them the benefit of the doubt that there controls will be better come on bro, if you are leaning towards the other game that is your preference but don't try to feed anyone else bull.

I am new to NBA games, and here is what turns me off about NBA2K11 demo:

I don't know what I'm doing in the game; the controls are too hardcore as someone stated already and got burned alive with flame messages.

So you know (as well as 2K) there will be newcomers due to Jordan, yet they release a demo like this. Barebones isn't a problem for me, the short match isn't a problem since you can restart (a hassle, but not a problem). But what strikes me as strange is they didn't include a basic tutorial for newcomers.

The controls you 2K fans says are so much improved? To me, they feel stiff and unresponsive, compared to regular (non-sports) games I play. Whatever improvements they made means nothing to me, because right now it feels unresponsive. This is obviously due to my not knowing what I'm doing, but that's essentially why a short tutorial should have been included. As it is right now, I have no way of judging whether or not I want to get this game, since the controls frustrate me and I don't know if I'll grow to like it, or if I will get used to the controls enough to feel comfortable with it.

All I have to go on is this tutorial-less demo, that is so short that even as I try to experiment with the controls myself to learn it, the frequency of having to restart adds another layer of frustration.

I also DO NOT play FIFA and NHL. Never had. I got those demos, and while I such at them and don't know what I'm doing in those either, I never felt frustrated with the controls. This leads me to wonder if my n00bness is the only factor here. My n00bness is apparent in FIFA and NHL, but no frustration with controls. Yet for NBA2K11, it frustrated me. Again, this makes me wonder if learning the controls will change my views (assuming I can learn it), but to find out I'll need to buy or rent the game.

I had a chance to play Elite 11, and like NHL, I sucked at it but I was able to play (crappily). Where in 2K11's case, I get frustrated.

this will help and trust me the controls are alot easier this year, but with any game you are new to there is that adjustment phase.

I wasn't near as impressed as the 360 guys were, somewhat Im sure because the ps3 version always gets the short end of the stick. It's nt just me just read the morning of the demo vs the evening reviews brilliant vs good or dissapointed.

I want to see what Elite has to offer before I make my decision. Their demo is supposed to be a full demo with tutorial. One of these next two Tuesdays.
