So maybe your grand kids will see real time rendered physics
First I know that alot of things can't be rendered I'm game. Like you cant just expect for the game to emulate someone like Kobe's crossover. But look at games like backbreaker where every tackle is different. So what your saying is that someone took the time to make a thousand possible animations for every forseeable outcome of every tackle. That is the definition of a waste of time. So we have computer programs that can generate car crash physics but these same principles can't be apply to basketball games. Let's be frank, the reason you don't see it employed is because sports game developers would rather the game look nice than play realistically. The backlash from backbreakers animations was stupendous. They were complaining about minute thing like an unrealistic juke. Lol. I'm not saying you can eliminate animations but you can get rid of unnecessary ones and when you do the games will feel way more realistic. Oh and love your rant about my unborn grandchildren lol. Funny how the things you said won't exist until they are born already exist lol. Good try though.

You reall ythink that can be applied to a basketball game. Euphoria engine..i think thats what its called practices on the break down of models using real time physics...Real time physics caculated.. Football is nothing but models constantly hitting and being throw. THey could've easily used ragdolls on that game and it would've been legit cause the moment there hit they've become in a sense ragdoll. In a basketball game thats nearly impossible euphria engine in a game?..come on adding eurphoria while trying to keep the ball in a players hand that has its own ball physics plus the player touching and getting offa shot. ITs like trying to implement 2 different physics engines in one game and keep them running at the same time. Because there'd have to be a player animation engine to implement signature shots and stuff. Dude face your not on a level to argue this argument how about you start your own game company and do that ...................... ... You know Elite comes with Nba jam right?

Re: NBA 2K11 Demo Roundtable

Think about it though in backbreaker there are no signature take downs no signature throws its not needed once a player is tackled there body is thrown into the physics and its all thats needed the ball dosen't need to move because its in the players grip it dosen't entirely need physics and from what i've seen in a vid a while back the ball itself is predetermined

Re: NBA 2K11 Demo Roundtable

LOL @ Carrington618 typing one sentence per post multiple times in a row - How 'bout you put it all in one post next time, sport ?

I'm just messin' with ya.. but it looks funny - all those short posts in a row by the same person.

And as far the physics discussion goin' on here.. I don't know. I have no idea about what either game is claiming, but.. realtime physics can be done today, but it's not gonna be perfect - especially not in an NBA game with all that different contact you can have.

Yea, why would it be a challenge to make the ball the right color ? I don't get it. Shouldn't it basically be as simple as editing the texture for the ball ?

I think it was more of a gimmick like oh the game looks different and so does the ball no real meaning behind it because it was okay before
