Also since when can Kobe 360 and Dunk on three players lol. Long story short, physics system that is not real time and is animation dominated is not actually physic lol. Sounds kinda simple when you put it that way. Oh and that doesn't even begin to address the fact that animations take some of the enjoyment out of the game. There's a real lack of control in the game. Like I said though I'm not being a senic just want a better standard to be set.

Are you serious did you not check that link. Dude reanimtor even says the physics engine on elite does not create animations there all predetermined

quote reanimator The animations are selected based on the physics system, " there all predetermined and only apply to the chest shoulders and hips when 2k's animations correspond to the whole body and there was never a moment in 2k where there wasn't an animation to carry out. 2k10 was in the guiness world records for most animations in a game people still find new animations in the game till this day... now imagine whats in 2k11

Round 2 ...Reck'd on

and what avoidable dribble animation from a steal cause i ain't never seen this and i've seen just about every steal animation in that game

And when did I ever refer to elite. My previous to posts never mentioned it. Know why? Because I was addressing what I believe should be done in my NBA game of choice. I'm not gonna compare a brand new game to 2k. I'm saying that because the game is animation dominated you get a lack of control and physics. True or False. Im not trying to turn this into "so and so does this better". It's unnecessay. If there is a way to express basketball more realistically then do it. No matter what name is on the cover the game that give the fairest representation of bball, a physic driven game is better for everyone.

Exactly but 2k in a sense is physics driving pop in the demo right now and use fisher and run at ROndo..two things will happen you'll either get shoved back by him or he'll pick the ball from you . Thats physics and good A I what isn't physics about that, when you moved down the court the defense player can bump you at anytime , make you pick up your dribble if he cuts infront of you.. thats realistic. You ask for realism yet complain about lack of control 2k gives smooth "physics" driven animations while the other game gives choppy and calls it realtime there the same one just presents it better by adding variety animations for different reactions contstantly different reactions in 2k11 you've got your realism and full control the iso controls are just like in real life for a person who has played ball when you start your dribble your basically dancing with your defender trying to get past him get him to go one way so you can go the other there pretty spot on realistic and smooth and give you great control.
2k as so many animations there's always an animation for any point in the game limited animations is not within there vocab . Certain animations if your bumped in real life your body bends and you back up that animations going to play variety or not .is there all of a sudden an animation where when kobe's bumped he picks his nose as well is that what you want?
Reck'd on ROund 3

Wow. You missed the whole point of my last post. Lol. Guess I am wrecked if you ignore basic points about what I'm saying. Your argument is that because the competition (which I never mentioned) doesn't do it then we can't complain that the better game doesn't do it either. Lol. So if I am to follow your logic it's impossible to create a sports game where collisions are render in real time. Blatantly false. I understand what your saying about contact it does exist. Your right. I'm just saying it could be leaps and bounds better. It incompass a greater part of the game. There is no need for me to press triangle and immediately be drawn into a foul animation. Let me control situations. Oh and if your going to declare yourself winner at least show some modesty lol.

Re: NBA 2K11 Demo Roundtable

I'm never unamazed at how people argue over video games -- which one is better, which one has this, which one has that -- You know what. It doesn't matter. The bottom line is both of these companies, EA and 2K, want your money. That's it. There's nothin' more to it.

Why you would stand up for either company and then feel proud that you did so is beyond me.

One of these games being released soon will represent the NBA better, but that's for each individual to decide. Who are you or anybody else to try to argue it ?

THe point i'm trying to get a across is that no game has animations rendered in real time , since it seems your definition of this is being created right before your eyes. NOt this year not next year because all animations are created in mocap and applied to the game to be applied as predetermined for every action in the game for when you bump someone for when you run into the crowd there all predetermined nothing is rendered in real time where its created right infront of your eyes..it was created in the game for that moment it just may be variety in that animation more than one but its still predetermined real time phsyics is a gimmick. So maybe your grand kids will see real time rendered physics
