NBA2K11 FAQS and IMPRESSIONS:

1) The framerate, graphical detail, and animation transitions are the smoothest I have EVER seen in a sports video game. Absolutely sensational.

2) The new controls are spot on--after you work to figure out the timing and usage maneuvers. HINT: It is very sensitive using L2 trigger dribbling controls. Hammering away left and right and half-circles will get you nowhere. You will look jagged and sluggish. IF, you master timing and execution and move the Lstick deliberately you will get better results.

3) Shooting jumpers off the dribble using the shot stick is absolutely incredible this year. I have NEVER liked using Kobe Bryant in 2K (particularly 2k9 and 2k10..and not because Lebron James is my favorite player THOUGH i know Kobe is better-for now). His jumper didn't tickle the twine like it should and doing his signature moves didn't flow well. NOW?!?!? OH MY GOD. The Black Mamba is finally the MONSTER he should be. And will be and absolute nightmare to defend.

4) The animations are sensational. Wondrous to behold. Paul Pierce's jumpshot (PHOTOREALISTIC), Rando's one-handed ball fake, KG's shimmy pull up mid and PAU GASOL'S BIG ARSE HEAD! lol ...are all some of the most beautiful things I have ever seen in a game. Everytime I saw these things or variations from different players I had a BIG SMILE on my face.

5) People saying it has an NBA LIVE feel to it need to realize the truth here: Mike Wang was the lead designer for 2KSports for years. He left 2k last year and went to EA Sports and helped them turn NBA Live from completely abysmal to oustandingly mediocre but fun. Now he's back at 2kSports were he "belongs". That's a quote from him. His heart is always with 2k. His own words. So anything you think feels like Live actually feels like Mike Wang because Live didn't feel that way before he got there last year. And won't feel that way ever again. Bet on it.

6) THE PRESENTATION IS AMAZING!!! This is only the demo and player introduction pics on the load screen are fantastic!!! The shot of the arena? Fabulous. The "galaxy stars" backgrounds on menus, photos, statlines, and in game subs are simply beautiful. The sound is spot on. AND THEY HAVE A HALFTIME SHOW IN THE FULL GAME.

7) We haven't even fell in love with the Jordan modes yet. OR Played with King James and Dewayne Wade in Miami. Or checked out the new robust My Player and signed endorsement deals.

8) Can you imagine how incredible the full game is going to be? Just.....WOW! lol It's going to be absurd.

9) NBA2K11 will be the best basketball videogame ever made. MARK MY WORDS. Every b-ball game will be judged on this bar 2K has just set. Bravo 2K Sports! Bravo! In the words of Jay-Z: "Clap for 'em, clap for 'em"....

I think "camera relative" explains a lot of my problems. That and I'm new to it on PS3 controller. Many times playing defense I would push R-stick to flash a passing lane and my defender would go in the "take a charge" stance. So user error fully applies, it's just frustrating to not see some of the results you intend translate to on-screen.

Right when you start the game and before they show the screen with all the NBA team logos.

Says plain as day "All NBA photos and rosters are accurate as of July 14, 2010".

Maybe it's different in the Xbox version or something, but that's what I saw.

Here is what you do. Work on the sizeups first. Come down on the right side of the floor with the ball in your right hand and only work on holding left trigger and pushing left stick to the right. Then work or breaking out of that at different times... So break out early and go left , early go rignt. then medium and then let it finish....

Then do the same thing but add a cross after you break out by holding left trigger and moving the left stick back to the left after you break out to the right. Build step by step .

By watching the sizeups you get a feel for the rhythm and when is the best time to break out. If you play with that rhythm all the moves will flow seemless

thanks for the advice. i will definitely start doing this.

Im glad you gave a starting point on how to get it down cause just playing game after game was not going to help me get it any better. I would still do the same thing.

I also believe camera relative moves are doing me in also. when i can pull of something i might remember what i did with the controls but the sticks wont be moved to the same place to do that move again if you are in a different spot. If i was able to switch to absolute it will make it much easier for me because i can move the sticks the same way and remember what i do each time

NOt being mean i'm just saying its obvious what your leaning toward if your playing game after game and not getting it because you don't want to put in work to learn some controls. I mean ELite's seem better haven't seen any video released on how to execeute crossovers just knock the sticks around and it happens. ITs simpler and getting to the hole seems easier seems like the game for you. Not much hardwork

if i didnt want to put in work i would have gave up. I was ready to but after i thought about it im not because besides that this is a pretty good game. Sure other things need work also but what games dosent

All 2k basketball games have been like this to me but it has not stopped me from playing them. its not a deal breaker for me but its frustrating to learn but that dont mean the game is not playable

Im not going to make a full decision until i play elite because if elite is horrible im getting 2k. So it would be in my best interest to keep trying to get the controls. Im not going to get into what im leaning to cause this is about the 2k demo but im giving both a fair shot

Thanks Czar...i can pull them off and have done all the moves basically not just consistently...man i miss 2k9 when you didnt have to use LT. Isomotion was smooth as hell in that version. i mainly need to work on breaking out of the moves ...sometimes when i do the n between the legs stand up move with Kobe its hard to tell which way to break out of the animation. Thanks again...Cant wait till this drops!

Well its like this imagine your playing basketball in real life, "If you ever have" when your in iso your dancing with your opponent getting to jump to one direction so you can break loose in the other. That simple its pretty easy for people who've played basketball before like Czar and others . Also you don't have to cross people all day to score you can literally score by just rotating the ball to the right person and using screens and picks
