Its amazing that that recovery defense is not even a worry. If thats the AI its no different than last year, maybe doesnt happen as much I dont know, but that was one of the ratings problems... the vertical thing altogether is just strange with guys jumping out of the building like that.
I've never seen a MOD so against a game lol

Seriously man give it up dude... this has nothing to do with 2k whatsoever. I played Live 10 the majority of the time last year because of the control scheme and even edited the entire game after the alien update and the broken patch and the 2nd patch that did almost nothing at all

For the record 2k10's playsets were smashed beyond belief because Live 10 did them so well it wasnt even a contest.

Regardless, dont sit here and tell me something as marginal as this is an improvement worth noting when it was doable with edits just fine, and 2ndly that defense was a huge part of the video which is being skipped over.. that was terrible.

How the heck did he recover so fast then get back in front of the ballhandler and do a vince carter olympic like leap like that? Thats one of the things that was supposed to be fixed

I understand what you're saying, but EA can't win for losing. If they don't show clips, people complain that they are not marketing the game or that they are giving up. If they show vids, then people say they are shooting themselves in the foot.

...

I'm stumped. I wouldn't know what they could do. They COULD show extended clips to compete, but those get picked apart. Deserved or not. Right or wrong. These guys can't win.

I will admit that I was HOPING for some extended gameplay footage. I also admit that this is a move that you can do in both games from last year. I have no comment about the verticals or if it was a travel. But it's at least further demonstration of the system and shows that the game can look much better if you know what you're doing. I liked the take charge animation and how you can turn while in that animation though. After watching, it left me wondering how much control I REALLY have? Will I be able to create some REALLY dope moments with the system? More than I ever have in an EA basketball game? If so, that has me kinda excited. We will see.

Granted im excited because I like to talk hoops, I am not against the game.

How can the game be improved if everyone is scared to tell them what they see happening?

Goodness man has it even been addressed with the overly excessively high blocking verts? This is what you want to see in a sim?

And it isn't new. left4dead (i think) made a good thread about it, You & Czar tried to explain it to rEAnimator. I threw up a screencap from the Heat/Magic game. No one likes it. I just don't see why de-rail the thread. rEAnimator said that verticals will need to be reduced across the board for the sim gamer, and that's probably as close to an admission as we'll get. After playing the demo, everyone will be on the same playing field in terms of having felt the responsiveness and having a leg to stand on when you tell the devs that no one wants unrealistic jumping sans gathering. Until then, why go on about it? If you show someone something that looks ridiculous and they say it doesn't, what can you do?

On another topic, what happened to leaving a thread alone if there was nothing positive or constructive to say? Navigating Elite threads has been a chore, and yet the only ban is a guy who could have quoted his post from one of Czar's Ten Teams Ten Days video threads?

Tha_Kid's got it right - you could 'see' the gathers in 10, but you can actually do them in '11, in any direction. In 10, there was a level of abstraction between the mechanic and the action (ie left stick right and X would give you a gather layup sequence, picking a mostly appropriate gather and layup), but in 11, you gather in the direction you choose, and shoot (or don't) in the direction you want.

Same goes for all the dribble moves, you can perform them in any direction, which sounds obvious, but is something we haven't done before.

Another aspect is the two man stuff - to beat somebody off the dribble, you'd play out a two man dribble sequence, which I found didn't necessarily relate to the move you performed. this year if you get beat it's because you got a step on your defender.
