NBA 2K11: Ten Teams in Ten Days - Day 2: San Antonio Spurs (Da_Czar)

Man, after all these years of being a basketball fan and playing video games, this is the first time that I truly feel its all coming together. As you get older, you start to appreciate the game differently and notice all the little nuances that are part of the NBA game instead of focusing on the flash and the highlight reels. I really appreciate what you are doing Czar, because this is what a lot of us truly care about: real bball.

In all the clamoring for headbands, socks, and flashy dunks, this stuff gets lost really easily. And I don't mean that as a slight, as I believe that the guys who keep hammering away for true visual authenticity have great points. But all that means doesn't hold as much ground if we aren't playing a game that truly reflects basketball for what it is. It was fun all those years playing videogames and having mindless fun, but I'm ready for something more "organic". And with these videos, I can finally see that they are on track. Might not be perfect in the end, but it looks damn good.

So what I'm really trying to say is: thanks brah, appreciate it.

every one had eyes a year back ago and was so stunned by the DC and 2k10 vids (including myself), and insights, and previews and so on .... and now tell me it lived up to the expectations and promises.

btw i can make u also a vid of 2k10 showing u how great the defense is, just need 10h of footage and cut it to the few good things of the game :P

nothing to think about since im seeing the vids myself...all that was wrong in 2k looks to be fixed! my main complaints were plays and movement and OH LOOK The_Czar is just providing that! along with a COMPARISON from 2k10 which you can SEE for yourself...

how bout showing us some vids on how well and fluid the movements were in 2k10...by all means edit a vid of 2k10 to make it move as fluid as 2k11 and SHOW ME!

There is no amount of video editing* that will show proper spacing in NBA 2k10 and players running smooth plays, unless of course, you manipulate the footage itself. Did a lot of us get excited? Yep, it looked cool at the time. But look back, and you'll see a lot of people complaining about the same things every year. If you can't really see the basic improvements made to the game so far, then I don't know what to say.

Will we find problems with the AI and other annoying things? I'll bet you any amount that we will. I know there will be people here kidding themselves and getting overhyped to the point that they will be brought back to earth, but most people (like myself) are just happy to see some real basketball decisions being made in the game instead of what we've been getting before. And yes, I can tell the difference by watching a few selected clips. Unless of course, this is all faked by the Czar in his evil elaborate plan to build up the 2k hype machine.

I've heard/read crazier things before though...

you both are right about the animations and spacing/playcalling system.
i didnt said that those things are bad - they really look nice.
but i get nothing out of it when e.g. bad AI destroys achieved improvement, thats why i'm still very skeptical. and you can only know if you play yourself a decent amount of completed matches.
single scenes of videos dont tell anything about the overall package.
