Close to perfect...before the patch, when it was coming out, it technically was a fumble.

I think because people were complaining about it. The real problem with making these games manifests itself every single year: no matter how some aspect of the game is done, some people think it's too little or too much, and others think it's perfect. The first group complains long and loud. Then they change it, and the second group complains that it was fine before.

This is the beauty of sliders, and why I wish we had twice as many of them (and that they were twice as effective). Everybody's expecting a different thing from the game - and even getting wildly different results, depending how they play, what difficulty level they're on, what team they use, and so forth.

Agreed x1000. The only thing I use zone for lately is if I'm just killing clock in a blowout, or I am bringing a blitz and think I can get there quick enough to force a bad throw.

There must have been people complaining that their QB missed a pass or their reciver dropped a ball, so EA, said eff it. If they want Robo, we'll give them Robo. There's an app for that.

before patch 2, this was perfectly done.
Put WR Catching to "conservative" in your game plan. This fixed all of my problems with drops. I rarely get them now.

You misunderstood, he's saying that players almost never drop the ball when getting pasted right after the catch.

Maybe I'm dumb, but before it seemed like EVERY time one of my receivers got hit right after a catch they dropped it. It didn't matter if it was on a slant and they got rocked, or a catch at the sideline where a cb pushed them as they caught it, they always dropped it. And I play with ND, and that was usually Floyd or Rudolph, two pre-season AA's, so I was getting really pissed to have drives get killed like that. I agree that a receiver shouldn't always catch those, but to me it was way overboard, and it still happens to me fairly often. Seems about right the way it is now, especially when you factor in the still superhuman lb's that knock everything over the middle down.

i say this simply given the timelines of the 2nd patch release, the uproar of the pump fake glitch and then add 3 weeks for ms/sony testing/certification.

it seems they didnt really have any time to work on this patch if its already coming out this week.
BINGO! That was my fear when they announced this 3rd patch. Seems pretty fast for all the things that need fixing. They should take more time and do more fixes since this is likely the last patch. Don't rush it out just to stop a bunch of 8-year-olds from using the pump-fake glitch in on-line games.
