Also the begging cutscene with the guys warming up is the same as last year... didnt the community guys make some suggestions to EA concerning improving presentation?

3) Gameplay, rebounding, dribbling and animations from what iv seen so far looked smoother and better than live 10.
the game speed was perfect compared to the other vid. Its the nba not local fast break playground ball.

As a person who liked nba live last year, this video to me looks worse than live 10.and I think all of it has to do with the player models and animations because honestly neither looked good, in fact, I think both parts g ame took way too much of a hit. Just looks like a step back to me. And another thing that irks me is why sports games, not all but most, almost always reuse the same cut scenes or some of the same cut scenes year in and year out? As a consumer if I'm going to buy a"new" game I really don't want to see the same stuff that was in last years version. Not sure about the way elite is looking this season

Re: NBA Elite 11 OS Exclusive Video: Milwaukee Bucks @ New York Knicks

First of...I really don't like the money talk (shouldn't be worth 60$). Yeah I know it's an issue for a lot of people and many of you are going to flame me, which is ok. I can live with that.

But for me it just sounds like all the Devs working on this product havn't put enough work into this product so they are not worth the 60 bucks. I just think, if you don't like it than don't buy it. But saying that it should just be like 40 bucks (not even mentioned that it includes a great looking second game) is like saying this game is as worse as "Garden Simulator 2010". It will not be as worse and I might bet that some might even change their mind after the demo.

This is how I look at the game. I was really not impressed, rather disappointed after my first watch. Next thing I did was reading this whole thread and asked myself, how come some people actually liked some things, who I know are no fanboys of any kind. So I thought about NBA Live 10, which in my opinion was pretty enjoyable aside many facts that just killed the game in the long run.

One of the major thing was the canned animation problem in the paint. The CPU or for that matter anybody could just run into the paint and 3 out of 4 times they would draw a foul in an ugly animation with sightly raised foul sliders (which you need for realistic foul amount in 48 min). Now with RTP, I have a feeling that this might not be such big issue. In this game there was no foul called, however I also haven't seen anything that should have been.

The other thing was, that while in an animation you totally lost control of your player. I hadn't had that feeling that either user lost control at any time, which is a huge pro for ELITE.

So actually there might be too major points solved or at least changed to the better.

However on the defensive end I haven't seen much greatness in that matter. Maybe that's a user issue, however who if not a dev could present that part of the game in a good way at that point. For the most part I felt they had serious problems to stay effectively in front of their opponent, which was just not expoited by the other user.

Also it looked like the users were really trying hard to represent the game so it looks like a realistic NBA game, which like many others saw, resulted in broken up fastbreaks and a forced halfcourt game, which is actually kind of weird b/c the transition game in Live 10 had been a weak part, so they actually could have shown us a great improvement made in ELITE.

I think MJJr said people shouldn't worry too much about the graphics. Well while I would say I do prefer a great game over graphics (hell, I still love CHOOPS2k8 like crazy) I think we kinda arrived at the year 2010 and while I think they made some good (not great) improvement in Live 10 I still don't understand why things in ELITE still look plain dead. Honestly, sometimes I felt there was more life in the crowd (actually looks like out of The Sims 3 but better than in L10) than in the players. I mean I am by far not an expert on that topic, but aren't graphics and gameplay two different and especially independently treaded stories? Please correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think much has chanced until Live 10 and now it looks even more dead. Wrong lighting? Cartoonish colors? Wrong graphics engine? I have no idea. I am just a user, there is no life in live, well excuse ELITE, and that's pretty sad, especially if you want to build a story out of your Dynasty. So I hope this IS something they are also looking at for next year.

There are many things I could go into detail, which is rather pointless however concerning presentation and commentary. We will see about that at a later point.

I think the point I am trying to make is. While I also have many things I am kinda disappointed with I think people should give devs a chance to prove that they can create a great looking and playing Basketballgame and not bury it before they have actually played it. Try the Demo and then walk to your PC and ARGUE about what you liked, what you disliked, what you want to be added. Talking naively offensive about a game will not make it better. It's not the 2k forum where you can complain about wrong colored headbands. It's ELITE and OS is part of building a new game with EA, which will take a little time. Come on guys

So either buy it for at full price or don't buy it at all? That doesn't make sense.

Focus on positives and negatives of what Elite 11 CAN DO and not what it cant do - i.e. 1000 animations, photo-real skin textures and lighting etc.. etc...

Appreciate that most of Live 10 frustrations have been removed...and say thanks.

Thanks

I hear people say the users were playing deliberately? Am I missing something, isn't that how most of you 'sim' guys play? I agree the Knicks user especially should have been more uptempo, but they were more focused on showing the game played in a certain manner.

What they did makes perfect sense to me. They wanted to show how the game plays in that style in contrast to the frantic/casual style we saw in the leaked vids.

Re: NBA Elite 11 OS Exclusive Video: Milwaukee Bucks @ New York Knicks

Well it kinda does. People decide on their own how much worth a product is to them. I've heard plenty of times that games "would" buy a great game three times or more. Does it make sense, well no, but they would sacrafice 180$ for that single game. In Elites case many people wouldn't sacrafice 60$ which is ok, but that does mean you buy it or not. Because EA decided the work that went into the product is worth that money and concidering how much human work was put into this game it probably is.
