Control. Thats all. Once again I'm not broken up about it one way or the other. I want to attempt any and everything with every player. I just want the outcome of that act to be based on the players size, weight and, ratings.

So in other words EA should add ridiculous animations to the game just so the user can have control...Might as well give the use the ability to fly through the air from foul line to foul line as well

I agree with this point and the last one

We have similar minds on all of this and that the points I've been making

The philosophies of the control pundits though dont want to hear what you're saying... Its all control or not

As I said, the extreme cases are never good on either side, and a balance should be struck from the get go

Shot attempts are a different story, you CHOOSE to take that shot. That's something that is more in your control, per say. You never see those unless it's a last second shot attempt, but when you see players who never dribble or dunk like that, it seriously adds to the unauthentic nature of a game.
Which goes to show you some people must not watch NBA basketball AT ALL. Leave ESPN alone and do some research by actually watching a game.

OK. Say Fisher attempts a dunk, realistically what would happen? Would he miss the dunk? Would he re-adjust his shot "attempt" and change into a layup because he realizes he can't get that high, unless on a fast break with no one around? Both things would probably happen, but you'd see the latter, 95% of the time in an NBA game. Just because they attempt a dunk attempt doesn't mean it NEEDS to be a dunk. Go hard to the rim and finish strong with a layup.

Thats a straight up arcade video game, not a sim
You mean to tell me Fisher couldnt even attempt a dunk? And if you take control of Boozer and make him jump from the FT line he shouldnt get anywhere near the rim. It should be like what happens when you take control of a player and make him jump. He should either have to pass or get an up and down violation.

Not sure what you're getting at here. I want as sim experience as we can get in a game. I don't want noobs cheesing and using Gasol as a PG dribbling between his legs and crossing people over. Do you see that in NBA basketball games you watch? I think not..
