Indeed. I still can't get off from using the face button celebrations. It's hard to adjust and hit a shoulder button.

One thing I'll mention which is pretty cool. When activating a deke with LB+stick, it can be cancelled mid-way through with a defenders poke or strange bounce, only to be picked up again or, in my case, get a loose puck one-timer on goal. I think that is awesome. Not only that, but it is really fun to pull off several dekes in succession for a highlight reel chance or a goal. This demo is crazy. Only a week to go, eh.

I am an old-school player in the sense that I don't try a lot of flashy stuff; I won't force passes into tight spots and am content moving the puck back and forth between my defensemen for a bit until something opens up. If you try and pass into a crowd, more often than not, that pass is either going to be deflected or intercepted.

It takes time, but once you get the hang of it, you will begin to really enjoy Manual passing; I changed early this year in NHL 10 to manual passing and now I can't go back to Assisted.
Sounds good, is the default mode on the demo set up with manual or assisted passing.

I'm pretty sure that the jumping into the glass animation from previous games is in there as a default celebration, meaning that you don't physically initiate it with a command. EDIT: Although it can be run as a default celebration, you can initiate it by supposedly pressing "A"("X" on PS3) if you are close to the boards to trigger the jump-to-glass celebration.

Here is the celebration list along with controller input...

  • LT = Ride the Lightning
  • LT + RS Spin = Ride & Fist Pump
  • A = Slide (Belly)
  • A (Standing) = Jump
  • X = Slide (Knees)
  • Y = Clean the Stick
  • B = Knee Up
  • RT = Down on One Knee
  • RT + RS Up = Punch
  • RT + RS Left = Arm Spin
  • RT + RS Right = Punch
  • RT + RS Down = Wipe the Ice
  • RS Left = Arm Spin
  • RS Right = Fist Pump
  • RS Up = Point
  • RS Down = Fist Cheer? lol
  • LB = Hand & Stick Raise
  • RB = One Arm Raise

Wow, I really had no idea that many were in there. I thought they gave us like 8, lol.

I had no idea either until I started playing around with the trigger buttons plus right stick. They are in there if you have the discipline to try each one after you score.

I just always end up pointing.
Maybe for NHL12 they will add the Patrick Kane "GLOVES OFF I JUST WON THE FREAKIN' CUP!!!" celebration.
Bonus points if they add the confused team members.
