Most people associate authenticity with what we see on the court such as accessories and sneakers etc. Authenticity (this is my opinion and you are more than welcome to disagree) should be dedicated to gameplay STRICTLY.
Post moves, cuts, curls, catch and shoot, defensive help etc.,the list goes on and on.
That's what I'd complain about.I downloaded the NBA 2k7 demo last night played for 5 minutes and turned it off, jumped onto 2k10 and the flow of the game was drastic.

Of course there were can-imations a plenty and control was an issue but overall the fluidity of 2k10 was above and beyond its' predecessor. Those are the improvements that need to be addressed yearly.

As technology advances and developers are afforded the ability to add things, deeper gameplay should be a focus...not someone's headband logo being positioned incorrectly.Just sayin'.

Getting back to the subject though, Detlef Schrempf looks spot on and I'm excited to relive many of MJ's 'moments'. XI's,XI's,XI's,XI's.....'nuff said.
But companies added accesories around 1998. It's like saying, NBA Live '95 didn't have faces, so who cares what the faces look like?

And 15 years ago, no one cared about the post-up game, no one said a word about it, so why would people even want the option be able to back down? In other words, you can't compare what was 15 years ago to today - not in the accessory department and not in any other department. You just can't because that can be said about ANY AREA of the game that we take for granted today.

I agree that 15 years ago we took what they gave us, but 15 years ago developers didn't really care about what you think. All you knew about the game was a little article you read somewhere, a little comemrcial you saw and what was said on the back of the box. If you tell me that you don't care about this information today, and that you'd 100% buy the game based only on what you knew back then - I'll say you're right. But I'm pretty sure you can't say that today.

Once again the art department has nothing to do with designing gameplay. So focusing on authenticity and attention to detail in no way shape or form takes away from gameplay. Also with the fact that these Jordan challenge games are focusing on specific games from the past. The authenticity from an aesthetic standpoint should be relatively easy as well as important to the overall immersion in the experience. Especially considering that these are static games in history that can be easily referenced to repliciate exactly what it was that specific players were wearing during those specific games. No this is not Live 95, or Bulls vs Blazers, this is NBA 2k11 and there has been leaps and bounds of progress made in basketball games. Gone are the days of every player shooting, passing, dribbling, and dunking the same. Same with the visuals no more litteral box cuts on boxy pixelated player models with no uniqueness to differentiate them. Since there has been such strides made between then and now in terms of gameplay, is it too much to ask for the same thing in terms of player likenesses and accesories?

DAMN Jordan is looking spot on!! my one and only gripe is that they fix the throwback shorts and jerseys... the shorts are waaaay to long and baggy and the jerseys are to loose.

Not @ all Lewyaneisking...sorry, I refer to Lebron as Lewyane now he's a resident of Wade County lol. I'm cool with some things, I just think it's a bit overboard with the talk of how centered the logo is on said players headband.

Youval, right on many points, I'm just old school, we're spoiled now. The more info the better hands down.
It's just funny how (I hope he was joking) a poster said he wouldn't buy the game because MJ's jordans didn't have a clear sole?
