yup. the authentic puck size makes a world of difference in this game. I use authentic shadow though as well. great addition to the game.

yes, authentic shadow is probably the best but even on a 50 inch my eyes have to work overtime!
I play on Classic cam. Maybe better on Ice.

When I first started playing the demo it seemed like the defensive side of the game felt better than last year in a big way. But after playing for a few days now I'm also becoming quite frustrated. It still seems like the cpu has a much easier time intercepting passes and getting passes through. More and more I watch passes go right by a well positioned D-man. I'm also having a harder time scoring. I'm playing pro normal so maybe I'm just bad at this game. Oh and it still feels like the cpu comes up with the puck during loose puck battles more often than not.

One thing I'm not so fond of is how broken sticks lie on the ice for the whole sequence when there is no break in play.

In the NHL, when that happens the linesman will go and pick it up. One more reason to get all referees and linesmen on the ice, is to take away some space.

Can't comment on the Defense part, but with the CPU coming up with loose pucks more... Last year, I put the game on Hardcore and felt like that fixed the issue of my players not grabbing the loose puck. Seems like on Hardcore, it eliminates that "auto" puck grab by your players, and enables you to get the puck without any "errors". If I'm correct, Hardcore means you have no assistance by the CPU. This means the CPU won't make bonehead moves in trying to grab the puck and overskate it.

I could be wrong, but try that out and see if it helps.

With the full game, you'll be able to fix those issues with sliders.

I'm just thankful that I haven't seen any CPU players pass back to the blue line on a breakaway yet. Has anyone else seen that? It was a major issue with NHL 10.

I did see a player dump it in on a breakaway as he was about to cross the blueline once... although I had two defenders only about a half a step behind and closing quickly (the guy seemed dead tired and was moving very slowly compared to my fresh legs)

so it wasn't too terrible, I doubt he would have made it in for a shot, but still would have been nice to see him try. It was the only time I've seen something like that though

I don't recall seeing that yet. But I have seen the CPU use the push-puck once they were behind my defense...
