Eh I actually like the first person fighting. I though the way 2k did it in 2k10 was more rock em sock em robots than actual realism. Granted I have a feeling I'm in the minority on this though.

i like the fighting too, i think its the most visceral compared to any past nhl game.

im not wanting a fighting sports sim, we have fight night for that you just want to experience the atmosphere and feeling of it as a side note to the great nhl game. and ea have in my opinion executed it perfectly.

Just some observations from a long time cpu v cpu player (Redshirt knows my thoughts on cpu v cpu mode and hopefully he can get some things tweaked either in a tuner or patch.)

Now I appreciate that this is a demo and as a result we cannot change the sliders. As discussed with Redshirt the cpu v cpu mode needs a tweak in the penalty and fighting area.

It is looking very much like NHL 10 with respect to penalties and fighting in this mode. The AI is much improved for cpu v cpu as a previous poster said. My concerns relate to the game needing a slight increase in cpu penalties (appreciate the slider cannot change in the demo)...

My biggest area of concern though is the lack of fighting in cpu v cpu mode. This was the same in NHL10 and looks to be the same for NHL11...I saw maybe 2 fights in 100s of cpu v cpu games...not sure why this is...is it because the user normally decides to fight or not and the AI doesn't do this often...or is it something else? If this can be tweaked for cpu v cpu mode that would be fantastic as fighting is a major part of hockey that for some reason isn't being applied to this mode as often as it should be.

If these can be improved via a tuning file or update that would be great for us cpu v cpu "players".

I appreciate the game isn't out yet but having "spoken" with Redshirt I hope you can try and give us some love in this area please (if possible).

Thanks a lot...and looking great.

Redshirt, saw in a game that I was hauled down on a breakaway with my opponent's goalie pulled. As I understand it, the referee would award an automatic goal in this scenario. Yet in the game, it still allows the keeper to come back in net for the penalty shot. Any chance on adding this rule into the game, or is it difficult logic to implement?

I am new to hockey but am really liking this game. My only problem is I am playing Pro default and every time I try to score and the goalie makes a stop he holds onto the puck causing a faceoff. I dont really mind faceoffs but it becomes very annoying after it happens every time. Is this realistic or is there a way to change this.

Lol, yes it's realistic. The game lets you get away with having your goalie toss the puck out when there is opposing players around but in real life, that's an instant goal and just plain dumb.

Yup...

especially when you figure that many games are decided by just one goal, you certainly don't want to just give goals away.
