You guys seriously go over everything with a fine-tooth comb, don't you?

Remember the type of shot and everything is user-controlled. If the shot looks awkward it's probably because of the type of shot the user pulled off. The vertical has always been a problem, honestly. I mentioned it at community day and am hoping it gets addressed.

Question -

Will there by "pull the chair from under him" moves? i.e. Rasheed Wallace will put a body on you and as you try to move him back he'll step away and the offender will fall on his butt.

I ask because if the defender can push the offender and vice versa, then there is a risk/reward system to that. Since you are putting momentum into each other and battling with strength, you have a lot of physics attributes at work.

Second question -

How are signature post moves done this year? Or is there any likeness to post players in real life? i.e. Yao, Shaq, Bynum - guys who don't lift off and kind of reach for the basket standing on their feet.

Third question -

In terms of physicality, are there boundries set on playing too rough? If I am overaggressive obviously I'll knock the guy to the floor and be called for an offensive foul. It happens every game in the NBA, a post play will mis-calculate how hard he's riding into his defender and he'll throw a shoulder into him(ala Dwight Howard).

If we have rules for this, then it introduces strategy in the post, via patience and coordination. If I see my defender isn't trying to push into me I won't try to back him down forcefully, but instead try a dream shake.

Player models do look good, but Pau is a bit bigger than his real-life counterpart.

Also, is that Bynum out on the perimeter?

i don't know man,it seems to me that gasol turned around so he can shoot a hook with his right hand.
the hook shots in the game looked awkward since nba live 08 on the ps3/xbox360(maybe even 07 and 06, i didn't have them).

While true this just reminds me of the issue they had last year where ALL post defenders jumped unrealistically high when challenging shots on the perimeter and in the post.

Also most post defenders even dwight don't get that high on post defensive shot block's when guarding the man with the ball.

He is much to high in this pic if he was guarding Gasol.

Nice Blog can't wait to see how deep the post game actually is. I wonder if everyone will have the same shots or if they had a chance to get any sig stuff in there.

Yea he did jump pretty high, I think they need to look into adding Wingspans into the game. Because some players may not be as tall as another one but they have longer arms that make them taller defensively. Like Dwight is tall plus a large wingspan, Tayshaun prince is average height for his position, but has very long arms (wingspan) which gives him the ability to block better. Andrei Kirelenko also.

This game sounds like it's gonna be rolling come october, all new controls, physics, and now post play I'm standing and applauding you EA Sports, I've been an official 2k fan for a few years now, but I'm done with 2 person animations, and having no control over what i want my virtual superstar to do in unique situations, and now I can with NBA Elite 11! It's going to be exciting online to have so much creativity and now that it's skill based you better bring your A game every time, get blog guys keep enticing us with this kind of news and 2k11 & MJ will be an afterthought
