I for one bought the game after hearing about the patch. I put NCAA down until it is patched (I play only Dynasty mode) and was looking for something to play and I must say I like the game. It takes a lot of getting used to, but once you do, playing the game is fun, which should always be the bottom line when playing a game.

Re: Backbreaker Adding to Legacy with Patch

I went out and bought a new copy of the game so BB would get some money. That was my way of showing support because I feel like with this patch (in BB2) and some play by play commentary (steal the guys that did NFL2k5) and a couple more things... in addition to the mods making the NFL teams there would be no reason at all to play any other "pro" football game. Even if they made a BB2 with all the things I stated then never made a BB3, it would be in my opinion THE football game to own until the next generation of systems comes out.

BB2! BB2! BB2!

I buy used games when I want to "stick it" to a company. I do that with some of the sports titles produced by that "other" company...you know that 800lb gorilla that I'm not allowed to officially mention here. I do it because they don't get my money and that makes me feel GOOD.

I'm actually pretty stunned a lot of people are finally coming around and supporting this game now and quite surprised people are stating their intention to buy new.

We should all definitely keep supporting and spreading the word of mouth if one really enjoys the game. If nothing, by giving XYZ game some competition it'll force them into innovation and to push themselves just as hard as they did when 2K was around. And from there, maybe it'll encourage other gaming companies to try or jump back into the fold of football gaming. Competition breeds excellence. And with competition gamers AND game companies win because they're forced to push the envelope and to innovate or die.

There were many of us sitting on the sidelines waiting for BB impressions, and stayed away simply because of all the issues. But plenty of us are willing to give the game a shot if these all get addressed.

You just said he was way, way off, and then completely agreed with him.

Anyway, this patch has me interested, but I didn't see any mention of adding anything to season/franchise, so I doubt I'll revisit Backbreaker this year.
