NHL 2K11 Hands-On Impressions (2KHockey)

2KHockey has posted their NHL 2K11 impressions.

Quote:
"Overall, the game reminded me a lot of NHL 2K8 when it came to the feel of it on the ice; the one-on-one dekeing animations against the goaltender, the responsiveness to hits, etc. The manual dekeing in particular felt much better (especially since the game offers a pseudo-2K8 control scheme option). The superstar moves are still there, which I actually enjoyed, especially if you’re trying to have some fun in the shootout.

On that note, I do like the goaltenders, and some of their animations, positioning techniques are a breath of fresh air from various AI issues of other sports video game franchises. And for the record, in the one game I did play, there did not appear to be any glaring issues with the AI on any occasion."

From the write up:

"...What I can say is that this looks like a very promising game that makes several improvements, even over last year’s 360/PS3 versions. The menus are slick, the controls are highly responsive, it looks great, and the gameplay is both deep and addictive."

I like the sound of this.

I can't believe it, but 2k11 is alive afterall. I suppose another upside this year is if they do decide to patch it I can't possibly have the wrong console version of the game! (never play the Wii so I have no clue if they even offer post game support on that system)

Wohooooooooo NHL 2k11 is back on the menu!!! Time to pre order and get pumped for the release date.
